That was a pumpkin Ron and I had a contest over.A woodchuck ate the back side and we set a few box traps with some magnum coyote lure and we caught it coming out of the old rock quarry behind the garden on the hill.We took 2 of them to the Co-op to check the weight.I think it was 185lb He loved the Iowa State Fair big pumpkin contest. He was quite a guy.

It take a good while to make a good lure. Most everything I have is older than 3 yrs.It will get thick but will never freeze with no glyceran or glycol. It took ten years to learn how and lots of learning the hard way just like I was shown.

I have used a old chest deep freezer with a 100 watt light bulb .It will get it to 100 degrees fairly easy. That works also to keep flies away. It's always fun to pop the lid open.

I made 30 gal. of Nelson bait one year and had no problem with flies.I use only glass gallon jars.Same with lure. And also made 15 gallon of catfish oil also with no flies.Just wipe down the lid if any fly eggs. You work your bait and lure daily so you should keep ahead of the game.

After several years of dealing with the Federal Fish Cops I have no love for them or Locals Fish Cops. They don't want anyone to make a dime off wildlife exept themselves. They know very little about animals in general. And can they make up stories but you better tell the truth.

The Nelson formula's I have calls for catfish oil in the bait. And the A-1 lure is fish oil also.Only to use the fish juice in the other lures. When letting set for 3-4 years buried in ground and one year in light like Bill did.The fish juice smells just like cheese with little fish smell to it.Alot of people bought the formula's but hardly anyone learned how to make it.Some people think they know everything.

Go to the health food store and buy some valariian root. Then get some 190 proof grain alcohol.Put half full in a quart jar and fill half full of root and cover with alcohol a little over the root. Let set in high heat for 7-10 days and shake daily. Then fill with glycol. In 3 days you are set.
