I think making rivets out of nails, went back to the time the first trapper saw the first nail.
Do we only buy trapping books from the man that invented the dirhole?

Marky, who invented the basic swivel thats out there now?? Whether it be the berkshire, crunchproof, mashproof or bridger?. I have noticed recently that there is another "cheesebait" on the market, not that there's anything wrong with that, I own nothing! I do understand that 100% and respect everyone elses rights to make and market what they want. After all look at all the American Ideas that have been "borrowed" and taken overseas.....B....

IMO, most of these "tools", are just adaptations of already existing products or ideas, there is very little that hasn't been thought of, or made, by any number of people, whether we know of them, or they live in blissful anononimity,(sp). I don't hold it against anyone if they try and copy these simple things, most of it ain't rocket science, and if you can, more power to you.
Now if your ripping off a patented whatever, for commercial purposes, then you may have a legitimate complaint if it's an identical copy. But lets face it, that's how innovations and improvements get made.

One time Ron Hansen and I made 10 doz.swivels.Out of half chunks of chain ,nuts and bent nails. It was cheap but short on time now it is easier to buy them. But those where some good times.
