It is my feeling that a guy with 10 yrs behind him may have more experince than a guy with 20 yrs. If the feller with 20 yrs takes 2 weeks off to trap then pulls his line and the guy with 10 yrs hits it for a month an a half he has more experince. Just something to think about.

I never used for k9s just coon an beaver but I would advise agaisnt the standard uiversal swivel as I have had big beaver back them up this was on 3/32 cable so 1/8 might be different just make darn sure it wont slip. I plan on getting some 1/8 myself this summer and making some up. RR

"I would call it a number 3 and quit producing the old #3 since it probably won't sell anyway. Jawspread should be the same as the Bridger #3. The levers NEED to be cut down. A square pan would be nice too. "
I agree 100% one other thing if they can do a 6.5 in jaw spread I would probley buy them but if its just a 6 inch I'll stay with bridger. RR

There Is very little you can do to prevent theft so don't worry about It.
I realize that but in my area I do and must worry about it. If I dont Ill have 25% of my stufff ripped off I have got alot of other trappers and people problems. Thats one reason I wont use the PVC set great set caught alot of fur on it myself on private ground in roadditches no way. RR
WCM the fish set is a stick that you either put ground up fish on or fish oil set infront of your trap and hope to have a coon in the moring. Make em walk between your stick and the bank.

I am thinking low profile here for high thieft areas. Even when I could dig a pocket as the fish set is less visable. I may have to try that screen set though. Thanks RR

What is your opinion of the different varations of the fish stick set. I have not had alot of luck with it. Not that I havent caught coon in it I have played around with it and caught 100 or so but it doest seem as effective as a pocket. I do like the fact that it is fast as easy to make. Lets hear your opinion. RR

I skined 2 coon this yr that had TWO feet. They were both small had no fat at all and both were livin in a barn (easy livin I suspected). They sure were fun to skin Ill say that. Have no clue how they came to be. All they had were stubs and both of them were missing thier feet and on the SAME side. RR

Ever whatch the smoke from fire? Even when the wind is steadly blowing in one direction. That smoke is going every place. Thats why I tend to play musical chairs when sitting around a campfire. Scent is like water in a river every tree rock ect.. that it hits it is going around it. I belive the deer my area are acustomed to human scent I can see where up in Maine or Canada you might have a problem though.

One more thing if a bloodhound can track a person down a highway from scent coming from the car going 60 mph, or can tell there is a body under the water a yote or deer is gonna know you were there.
I would like to point out once though I was bowhunting for deer up in a tree. I watched a coon come down a tree an feed on acorns he made his way towards me he was right below me when he cut my trail the hair on his neck stood straight up and he actully looked up at me then ran off. This was red hot scent though as I hadnt been in stand for 10 min. I just said this to point out that coons got a better nose than some give him creit for I will have to say I have also had coons come with in inches while I was in ground blinds an once I had 4 come right by one stood about 2 ft away and just looked at me while one actually put his nose on my knee. The same nite I had a pup red fox come with in 10 yrds. The awsome sites of bowhunting. RR

Never bought the stuff. I have done enough bowhunting for deer to know that it is all a bunch of bull. I have walked right up on deer wearin fish oil an fox urine I have also been close enough to touch them numerous times. I stay clean try to hunt the wind athough i think if you clean it dont hardely matter. Its been yrs since i was winded. RR

I am thinking your right on lumberjack, if it wasnt for cars, hounds, an traps they would probley live a little longer on ave. I have seen some true 30 + lbers that had teeht that were allmost worn down. They dont live long around here.

Ok I know that 1/8 is better for drowners but how do ya ll feel about using 3/32 for dry cable stakes and on coins? All I've ever used was 3/32 so dont have anything to compare too. I use cable extenions on all of my coins from 160 - 330s. Thanks RR
