This anit trappin related either but gramp allways said there is a differnce between fishing and standing on the shore lookin like an idoit. Another when ever a extreamly small fish was caught he would say it'll make a turd an put it in the live well. RR

But if it were for a good cause, such as an FTA/ NTA fundraiser I'm certain that a man as dedicated to the embetterment of trapping as our beloved adminstrator would leap at the chance to prance so attired. Perhaps while doing a demo at one or all of the conventions posted by FWS Say we raise $500 for the NTA/FTA? How bout it? after all it would be for a good cause ;D ;D I am bettin that since this was K9s idea that he would gladdly wear a nice purple dress just so you dont feel alone ;D How bout it guys? I got $10 help us out fellers raise some $$ to see the dress's at the NTA

All those other water sets were invented for areas that have rocky banks, sandy banks where a hole would collapse, and places with fluctuating water levels. If you don't have these problems, it is hard to beat a pocket
No offence coonduke but I use those other sets in places that I could easily dig pockets but I ask myself WHY dig a pocket that takes several mins when a slap of lure or bait will work just as good less time means more traps more traps means more fur. I set these in areas I KNOW coon are set near sign an coon Will find it. MY road set up is like this find tracks squirt scent set trap stake with pogo plunk trap an go. lots less time an less attractive to thevies unless you are really lookin an know what to look for you wont see my trap. Seems too simple but its deadly. Now on rivers an places I will be a while I will dig a pocket an run drowners but on my roadline I am in an out so speed is nessary check in the early am with darkness an cut down on thevies even more. First of all buckets with coinibears dont work well for me early in the season too many snapped traps from coon reachin in instead of fully commiting. I myself would set trap in waters edge near coon sign tracks ect.. smear some bait and/or lure fish or salmon oil stake and run to the truck to get down the road an set more traps. I would set 220s in trails where I knew I would connect no iffy spots if your in an out in 3 days. This is the system that a feller that traps near me uses and he kills ALOT of coon. Takes the most in my area an is well known for it. Fast an simple If there is enough sign to be there in the first place squirt some scent plunk a trap an go the coon will find it they got a better nose than given credit for. I have been winded by them up in tree stands before.

I like to check my road sets or other people prone areas at night nothig better than being able to set in the middle of the road an not worry about someone commin by an wonderin what your up too. I got it all to myself. I am not in such of a rush at night in the day time I want get in an out of an area asap not as much fun that way. I also have alot of fun durring the day can see things better. Last yr it was check in the night, hunt all day or set more traps, and skin at night. One thing I will NOT EVER do again is check traps in a graveyard at night I was trappin an old church that had coon livin in last fall. I had a bunch of 220s set up around it well it was beside this graveyard I had to pass threw to get to my sets. I checked them once in the dark man was I scared I caught 3 cats that day I kept thinkin some dead cat lover was gonna get me I counldnt get the coins set kept catchin myself man that was spooky. Foxtail- thats an awsome pic
