Yeh ok Gwb wanted to allow only our military to have guns ok?.............
He wanted this Supreme Court to define such as did the original 8 plaintiffs in the case. This was a land mark decision that has really added teeth to the 2nd amendment and helped keep, our rights, but again the argument of gun control versus allowing all of the refugees in our country is still an issue for the left.
Where is the back ground checks on all these people? Yet I want to buy a handgun I go through a check system? I find that funny and sad in a way.........

Nothing I read Tman I have seen it first hand and if you think there aren't plenty of free loaders on the govt payroll well then you don't . The facts are their are all about the guidelines meet those and your in, they won't dig too deep either,
That is why more states need to be like Wisconsin and mandate work for pay. If you have the ability to work you should be doing something bottom line.

Tman the benefits of oil investments go far above and behind me LOL. It effects many people either in a positive way or negative, but if anyone has money invested your into the oil futures. It makes people money. Investors don't stay in business loosing your money! Beats the bank by a lot!
We are paying for it on fur prices with low crude oil as well...........

Bryce the funny thing is Ford is selling more of their new 1/2 ton trucks than ever! They are made here in claycomo, Mo they have plenty of OT for the workers and the line has been booming for a period of years, those trucks aren't being offered with big incentives that is the funny thing, I keep asking where people get all this money to buy 44,000 trucks?
Don't think the car makers don't have the 0 percent figured In to the price they do LOL.
The rest is because we are sitting with 17 trillion in debt! The banks are loaning money they are getting from our govt, we need to increase interest rates and start cutting away some of this debt sooner than later!
Housing would be nill,Nadda, nothing if not for better than 90 percent of the loans today being backed by our federal govt!
We are still living under a falsehood that our economy is doing ok, we know it is very fragile and will not take much to go back from where we came until hard changes are made.
E85 is a dead market that stuff now cost more than standard gasoline no one is buying it and the price of corn reflects the non use and non Subsidizing of such. Wonder how long before many of these ethanol plants close their doors? People will be looking for work.
Corn and bean prices for the near term don't look to be good at all. Other countries competeing with us in the AG sector and input cost not going down with the price of corn and beans.
Just read a report the other day John Deere sales are down 42 percent! They have begun lay offs and more to follow. They had a period of great years but those are done for awhile and many ranchers and farmers will be keeping equipment longer or buying used versus new with these prices. The cattle market has been dropping for the past couple months and getting back more inline with feed prices and people just haven't been consuming beef near like they did 10-15 years ago.
Hard times ahead for many in the AG and livestock industry. Many won't be thinking of the profits but how to break even. Those that went out and bought ground for 10,000-14,000 per acre now have to look at that crystal ball and figure out how can I make 3.60 corn and sub 9.00 beans work?
Cattle are off 200-250 per head at the sale barns compaired to 6 months ago. The trend is for more declines in the cattle market. The sheep market is still very good though!

Pam how many charter schools are there in the Midwest compaired to the coastal regions?
Also private schools offer some a choice to have their children taught and brought up in an environment they prefer, that is just called freedom. My dad went to a catholic school his entire k12 schooling. I never did because I didn't wan that burden placed on my parents getting me there and the added cost. In some regards it would have been nice though.
A cousin of mine has taught at a catholic grade school for 22 years now .again it is all about choices.
Bryce we are not talking a couple of families moving that is for sure! low income has lots of mobility. I have no problem with what Gov Thompson did and it helped your state! You don't cut that many people and think they are all still there? Sure som got reclassified but plenty left to surrounding states with less restrictions on welfare. Those that boarder Iowa and Minniesota not a tough move.
We need to remember not all people on welfare are legit and many of those who a not left for less hassles.
Bryce when was the last time you where through Dubuque,Iowa? Lots has changed in the last 20 years there. Much more change is in progress.

But the corporate people don't pay taxes anyhow right?
You keep business in states and our country by making it reasonable for them to do so. Some states welcome business better than others. One states loss is another's gain. Very competitive and you are trying to win that business and revenue for your state.
Citibank used to have a strong hold in Maryland they have moved much of their business to South Dakota over the years because it was a better fit. Lower taxation, lower wages and less exspsensive to live than on the east coast. Now SD benefits from the move in millions in tax dollars, mpeople spending their money in the state and residing in South Dakota all making the state more revenue. Plus no state income tax, that alon adds value to the workers pocket book.

Pam run or hide? You think terrorist would not see you? Or the use bombs is going to help?
If 2/3 of the people inside that stadium where armed they would have had a great chance against those terrorist 5,000-7,000 people with hand guns versus 4-6 with automatic weapons?
Strength in numbers. I am not afraid to die for the right cause as odds are good I could be dead anyway or a few 1,000 armed people could have saved 100's of lives.
The point being and it is a key one, they knew none of those people would be armed inside that stadium and made things much easier and quicker for them to rain down their terror on all of those people.
An armed society is a safer one, again look at states with more Liberial gin laws and crime rates versus those with much stricter guns laws and It will be interesting to see those that have loosened their gun laws in the last few years to see if th crime rates decline or stay the same.
Australia is a great example they made gun ownership far stricter and emir violent crime rates went up.

I hope not either for your sake. Yet we think by throwing more money at these large urban districts that some how money will solve what ill's them LOL. Not going to happen, it starts with the home and what they receive from parents first and foremost, until we can change that, these districts are doomed to stay status quo. KC has a budget of 328 million dollars. Same with the Indian reservations things need to change at home before any of those schools really start to get serious about educating their children.

Well some studies show, your state benefited nicely from the program's put in place against the national average.
Also you want to see bad education look at KC and St Louis which was unacreditited and also,Indian reservations far worse off than most all other public schools.
KC has been through 5 superintendents in the last 16 years. That is around a 3 year avg stay!

Bryce the continued bashing is part of the problem, we must all admit there are people that use and work the systems put out there period.
We want to help those that really need it and get rid of those who work the system.
Many will bash those who are working the system, the problem is some do not want to see the systems are being abused, we can debate by how much and what cost but we all know people who have done such. Been going on for 50 years.
I also know prior to the enactment of work for welfare Wisconisn had some of the very highest welfare payments of any Midwest state and your taxes to cover such where going up at big inclines to cover the welfare cost.
That trend as since changed has it not?

Bryce when govenor Thompson brought the idea up in Wisconsin we heard what? Babies will starve, people will go hungry, we can't do this to people expect them to further themselves etc, etc.
What Wisconsin did was shift a massive amount of lazy people to surrounding states where the protocol and expectations where far less or non exsisitant. It has saved your state of Wisconsin a lot of money since the inception I would be willing to bet.
We can define able bodied if you can work then you must do community service, how many mentally challenged people work every day in special centers doing jobs like blister picking nuts and bolts, assembling mailboxes and other jobs? I know of these centers and the work they do, if they can be working so can many others who because of a system they can manipulate work far less than they should or could. Again not 100 percent but enough the laws for assistance should be looked at and changed, it would save tax payers dollars.

Easy to fix quit making corporate bankruptcy so easy for them.
Not on the wage earner the lazy and yes our country has plenty of lazy in it just a fact.
What do you see wrong with those working less than 10 hrs a week and collecting help doing community service?
Betting the business owner is working more hours per week correct for that subsidy

bryce if you think politics will change until we make changes in parties well then you...............
I agree some have trained people that the free lunch is the better way, I am all for anyone who can work should be working if any fed, state money is involved in their income. If they are working great if not then they need to put in 15-20 hrs community service.
