Why don't you call the NAFA office and find out, the number Is 608-205-2900
It's a given that the number has to be quite large since It needs to be graded Into lots. And those lots need to stand on their own since you can't mix dealer protected lots In with other dealer lots.

hey, if it doesn't bother any of you, and its just "business"...................
I was under the misconception that an open auction, is just that.
My mistake....

It may not be open to your ideas and thoughts but to me it offers me more upper end potential than taking my furs to one buyer at a time waiting to hear the offers and then either negotiating, taking the offer or leaving with some or all of my fur. Not much different than an auction with buy backs, limits and PT offers as well as open auction to multiple buyers. The big difference is that shipping means I made a commitment to have an auction house market my fur over a time span they feel will be best for the house and me. With taking fur to a buyer I can retain ownership for as short or long a period of time as I choose to. I don't know what arrangements are made between buyers and the auction houses then again I don't know how many local buyers may actually be buying for larger regional buyer either or shipping to the same place that I ship to.
