One good thing about our system is the checks and balances. With that in place, no single party has the final say.
When Trump wins, if the Reps loose a few seats, that may be a good thing?
I'm not sure if Trump can work both sides of the isle? Nobody does. But one thing for sure, Hillary doesn't have the respect of Congress. Just my opinion, if she would win (which I don't think she will), she's not going to be able to do anything good for our country. More of the same old same.
I said this before, Sanders would have had a better chance of beating Trump. From what I've seen and read, here lately, Trump is getting into this politics thing. And he's in it to win.
Read something the other day, Obama told Dems to not get cocky, and think this game is over. I agree, it's not over!

Yep! But put an * beside that comment! I'm not going to go up and edit my post. lol
Clinton is feeling the Bern. The way I understand things, the lady from the DNC was in cahoots with the Clinton bunch.
Wasserman (sp), I guess she "retired". Her and her folks "black-balled" Sanders.
Not sure if was the same bumper sticker that I spotted today? Hillary, Lock er up!

"...the lady from the DNC was in cahoots with the Clinton bunch"
The DNC wanted a candidate who could actually WIN the election. Who cares what was said in emails, I never saw any type of smear campaign against Bernie Sanders, did anyone else? Likeable as he is/was, the public just did not give him enough votes for a variety of reasons, didn't have a thing to do with how anyone at the DNC felt.
ON the other hand, the RNC had the opposite problem, in spite of how they felt, they have a candidate that even a good share of Republicans shudder to think about.
Cheers, Pam

"..Aetna is closing down 70 percent of their Obama care insurees..."
Actually what they are doing may be trying to blackmail the gov't into not objecting to their buyout of Humana.
"ACA involvement may have been prompted by the U.S. Department of Justice's move to block a proposed merger between Aetna and Humana. "Aetna says this change of tone about the Affordable Care Act has nothing to do with the merger — but some analysts have suggested that Aetna might 'use its future participation in the exchanges in bargaining over its purchase of Humana "

1) If Bernie could start with the name recognition he has now- he would win- but.........he started with zero name recognition.
2) A candidate runs on a platform- one platform is geared towards working folks and inclusion of all, the other is geared toward billionaires and exclusion.
3) Aetna is pouting, pure and simple
4) not only was Clinton widely said by both partys to be able to work between the partys when she was in congress and after- and even today, a big number of GOP congress, including the reactionary far right King out of Iowa says he can work with Hillary- his words, not mine.
5) the hiring of Bannon, who multiple people (GOP that worked for him)said was the most horrible man on earth, shows Trumps colors.

I'll disagree with #2 and 4.
For one thing, in the unlikely event that Hillary would win, she's not going to be able to work across party lines. There's now way.
Years ago the Democratic party was known as the party for the working man, that's no so anymore. Not in my opinion anyway. Workers across this country see it every payday. Ask anyone that's ever worked overtime.
A man works 40 hours, and the damn government takes this much, if you work 60 hours the next week, the Feds take about twice as much. I forget exactly what the break down is?
It's just that much more money the government has to waste. Every week when a man looks at his check stub, he just gets more and more PO'd.
I know for years and years, unions would always back the Democrats. Not so much anymore.

When Hillary wins- she is going to have a Democratic senate-
if the GOP doesn't work with her- she will have a Democratic House in 2 years

Pam you are mind boggling with your assement on Hillary and not lying. Good grief ask 100 people O bet 90 would tell you she lied, countless times on the phone scandal. Like her husband saying he didn't have sexual relations with Monica, all about the words used. The bottom line they are both lying fools and as long as some will allow them the headway to get by with it why stop? If they see you and others covering for them they have no need to ever dive into truth, all a word game but the proof shows she lied, my goodness listen to the tapes, her answer and that of comeys are all together different and they have the facts .
Aetna is getting out of the health exchange to the tune of 70 percent believe what you will Pam they are not the only ones and the program will leave many with little choices, this was never really thought out in the beginning look at the troubles from the get go, they never landed on many young people not joining and paying the fine, so now the risk pool is much greater and with the premiums we here they are these companies are loosing a lot of money. Easy to see the why and how of it all.
Tman no way she has a majority of the senate and house, not unless the American people want to give her a blank check? I would doubt that highly. The country would be in ruins within 2-3 years. SS Would be gone, the debt would be 33-34 trillion and the level of poverty would be closer to that of the Indian reservations and our unemployment numbers would be well north of 12 percent.
Yes the Indian reservations have been voting democratic for many, many, many years and where is their prosperous nation at? Why is unemployment north of 50 percent? They even get free health care and housing? I would think if the socialist model was so great the Indian reservations would be doing far,far better than they have for the last 40-50 years?

Inclusion of all, how can you be serious Tman? The inner cities are no better off voting for democrats as long as they have, the black population is no better off voting for democrats for as long as they have, the numbers are out there, the idea of a village to raise families has not worked in many areas and it will not be a model for all of the US.
The dems need to find something else besides the evil rich, they are not keeping the Indian reservation suppressed, nor the inner cities or any other area either. The federal govt has spent a lot of many there yet they still remain the same why is that?

Counting the chickens before the eggs hatch. Kind of like painting the baby's room blue when it should have been pink. Or in this case red.
Noticed where Trump was on the ground in the "flood zone". Obummer is on the golf course and Hillary is nowhere in sight.
Check out the videos, good press for Trump.

since name calling is the name of the game here it seems- I'll call Trump "Racist Donald" from now on
yes, good 49 secs of unloading playdoh press time (that was the entire amount of time Racist Donald unloaded the truck) and I'm sure the people were quite happy with playdoh- meanwhile, President Obama has sent all the aid allowed by law at this time, and declared over 70 parishes disaster areas.
we had these same conversations about President Romney on this forum- I'll be content to wait
but hey- Racist Donald is trying for the blacks- what a condescending speech- and so far wrong on the facts (of black poverty, etc) that as Clinton said his ignorance is staggering
and Racist Donald (his new bumper sticker "He's a racist, but I'm for him") regrets his remarks- new Clinton ad puts a mockery to that-
I can't wait for the first debate-

"Noticed where Trump was on the ground in the "flood zone"."
Did you also happen to notice that the LA Governor ASKED politicians not to come now for photos ops because it takes too much security resources and they are stretched way too thin at present? Trump decided to go anyway. President Obama immediately declared them a disaster zone, no photo op necessary.
I was down there with Red Cross in April for flooding and I can tell you they are very happy to have all the help from the Feds. When people lose everything the last thing they need is politicians showing up.

Gee whiz! Not sure where to start? I left town last night after work to get outta the way, went to the old shack. No phone, no cell service, no internet and no TV.
Folks she's peaceful up there! Did hear a whip-poor-will, early this morning.
Pam didn't you see the video of Trump wearing his work boots, his old T-shirt sweated wet and mud up to his knees, driving that scoop shovel through the lady's house?
He's a "Get er done" type of feller! President Trump, just as well get used to it!

Pam your answer to my question is do Imthink the republicans swill help them and how? The left has pandered with success which is beyond me and millions of others for years with folks of color, Indians and Latinos. Why? Because they tell lies and mis truths about what the evil republlicans as will do to them, i know the republicans could help them get off the status quo, if they are willing to do such.
The Indian reservations are no better off today than they where 40-50 years ago, in fact they are worse off because they have been encapsulated into the social programs of the democrats and yet they keep voting for them? Mind boggling. Nothing changes for the better and they are kept under oppression by the very people they vote into office. Again mind boggling.
The thought process should BE more self awareness and self worth and less relying on the federal govt for basic needs, yet we see peol,e wanting to continue down this same path which the results have never changed since they started such programs, except to expand more and more? In what realm of common sense does that work out to anything remote to success?

Pam I lived for a period of years, 3 miles down the road from a very large Indian reservation and my wife taught on this reservation for a year. I have seen first hand the programs the democrats have put in place and they do nothing for those people except to keep the oppression and recession alive and well on these reservations.
That is not my thoughts or hear say these are facts. Super high unemployment, super high rates of suicide, little self worth and severe drug and alcohol abuse. Kids many not making it to see the 10 th grade as the drop out rates are very high and little to push them to continue their education. Never will be an easy fix, but standing with the pat hand will NEVER EVER change things on the Indian reservations, the inner cities that is a fact.
Like roughing up gun control when we have Chicago and the state of Illionois with some of the toughest gun control in the nation and yet 1,000 's are killed each year in Chicago, this is not a gun issue by any means, it is a social and people issue. Until you fix those things your never going to lower the homicide rates in Inner cities, but too easy to pass new and more restrictive gun laws that have zero bearing on the outcome what so ever. Except to take away from legal gun owners. That is what chaps my butt.
