Obama is a gifted orator and he gave an excellent speech during his visit here. He spoke for close to an hour. Here is a link to a newscast that shows a few highlights but also delves a little into the politics of it all. youtu.be/ob8w0RYaX_kCanada will miss Obama. We got along. I would say that the last time Canada admired an American leader so much was Reagan. We really liked him also.

He's a smooth talker, as long as the teleprompter is running! Notice in that video, he keeps glancing back to the machine. I watched one speech when it stopped working, he was at a loss for words. Completely confused, talking in circles, that didn't make any sense at all. The folks here in WV will be glad when he's gone!
Trump is a smart man. Get er done type of feller. Speaking for myself, I'm Clinton-ed out!

I'd rather have a president who measures his words, who thinks before he speaks.

We'll see. Trump is in it, and in it to win.
I've mentioned this before, hide and watch, Trump will unleash a heap of dirt on Clinton, and she won't have time to respond. Just read a story today, somewhere like 68% of Americans feel she should be prosecuted for the email deal. It's not over!

It isn't over but .....
I heard that 50% of Americans were Democrats and the other 50% were Republican. I guess you don't have any "other" in the states.
But half of the Republicans can't stand Trump while all the Dems love Clinton.
Who knows. Trump will have to get his supporters to vote. I'm figuring that Clintons supporters will take time out of their protesting to vote for her.

not so much that Dems like Hillary- but considering the choice we will vote for her
something like 98% Blacks oppose Trump, 87% Hispanics oppose Trump, she has a 20+ lead with women, a 21 point lead with college educated (Romney won them by 14 or so), and young voters will come over after Bernies endorsement today
not enough old white men to elect him IMO
it truly boggles my mind, that his "strong" point is is business experience- yet, when one looks at it- its shameful, and really unimpressive.
and his big talk about donating millions to charity- a look at what can be found, shows a mere $10,000 given- which is fine, but then don't brag about giving 100,000s
and he won't release his tax returns? we all know, if they said what he said they did- they would be released
basically Trump got this by getting 20-30% of a minority of a minority of voters-
while I have disliked some past presidents and candidates- I've never feared for the country if elected- with Trump, I truly do fear for it.

Was short on time.
As far as Democrats and Republicans, number wise, I'm not up to date on the percentage, give or take there are probably 20% more Dems than Reps. Plus, we have the other smaller parties.
You see, I live in a Democratic state, and Democratic County, so if I want to have any say in our local elections, I've got to be registered as a Democrat.
During our recent primary election, we had 6 people running for Magistrate Court Judge, on the Democratic side. It's about the same for all of the offices at the courthouse, town, and districts.
A while back Hillary had a small fundraiser in WV, the folks attending her event were outnumbered 3:1 or better. By folks that asked her to leave our state! She doesn't have a snowballs chance of winning WV.
Remember the recent flooding in Southern WV?, Trump had his people delivering essentials, before the water crested! I'll bet you never heard about that, because of our bias media.
That's like Clinton's email deal, she's lied and lied more! Hillary scares me. She's not fit to be Commander in Chief!

""Trump makes good on his donation to veterans groups" The Associated Press spoke or left messages with each of the organizations Trump named. Of the 30 groups that responded by Tuesday, about half said they had received checks from Trump just last week. Several said the checks were dated on or about May 24 — the date as Trump's interview with the Post — and shipped out overnight. Donald Trump: The Least Charitable Billionaire In The World newsexaminer.net/politics/donald-trump-the-least-charitable-billionaire/He's a blowhard who never does anything that doesn't benefit Trump. Maybe he can make a contribution to help out all the businesses and individuals he stiffed in Atlantic City. "Trump will unleash a heap of dirt on Clinton.." There's nothing new that can ever come out about the Clinton's, its all been hashed over ad nauseum by the Republicans. By now voters are satisfied that investigations on Benghazi and emails have been nothing but a colossal waste of OUR money. And, they STILL won't let it go. I think it could be the other way around, if Hillary's campaign decides to go after him there are a multitude of things about Trump that haven't even been touched on yet. Heaping dirt on him could be a full time occupation for a small army. crooksandliars.com/2016/05/why-arent-trumps-mob-ties-bigger-story"Trump’s career has benefited from a decades-long and largely successful effort to limit and deflect law enforcement investigations into his dealings with top mobsters, organized crime associates, labor fixers, corrupt union leaders, con artists and even a one-time drug trafficker whom Trump retained as the head of his personal helicopter service. " He won't get out of releasing his tax returns.

As far as WV goes the Dem's have 37 delegates and the Repubs have 34. Considering that Bernie is throwing his support to Hillary, and some Repubs really can't in good conscience vote for Trump, I'd say it could go to the democrats this year.
"Remember the recent flooding in Southern WV?, Trump had his people delivering essentials, before the water crested!" Woo Hoo it's an election year.

Well as I remember Obama didn't get WV's vote either election, and Hillary won't get WV's vote this time!
Sanders would have done better than Clinton, in this state.
Trump will win.

Bryce what state are you from? Let's take a look at the numbers of folks, (as Bob Wendt) put it, "sucking on the government's tit". Let's start counting, from about 8 years ago, and compare that with today. Comments like this one from Hillary, they don't sit well in a coal state! www.politico.com/story/2016/05/sanders-looking-to-rack-up-west-virginia-win-over-clinton-222952I don't live in coal country, but know folks that do. Their industry has taken a hard hit during the last 8 years, and it's cost us a lot of jobs. Do you think we'd want more of the same? Just my opinion, it's time to get folks back to work.

I live in WI we are 34th out of 50. Yes you can use the total number but that is not as good of actual number as the percentage of the population or the percentage of the total revenue that is dependent on others. So you are saying that a group of 100 citizens that are 100% dependent on revenues from others is a better ideal than a group of 10,000 that are getting 2% revenues from others. The 2% group in my example get twice as much total revenue from others but provide 98% of their needs. One also needs to remember that it is not only what is given out but what is sent in as well. Percentage of revenue used by others reflects how much more each recipient is dependent upon others compared to what they pay in. Sure WV is not a wealthy state and the coal industry has been going down hill for over a generation as natural gas has replaced the need for a lot of coal. If your idea is total dollars given out and not sent in or percentage of use then we indeed measure dependence much differently.

http:// Honestly, who would really want their kids to grow up and work in coal mines all their lives? Pam People that don't want their children to leave the state to find a job .... Knowing people in Nova Scotia, working in a coal mine isn't like what you saw in old movies. It is a good, honest well paying job. Yes, there are dangers. Lots of types of employment have some degree of danger.
