hey coon- i would have no problem with the mouse deal as long as it is frozen- i want something that always smells like it should not the slow rendering effect of the mouse or what ever breaking down-grass plugs work well- have used them - have done better with a balled up piece of scott towel though- better eye appeal - and more absorbant-lol

Tman, that does happen, I have seen it in dogs they get the smell of something before actually getting to the exact spot and star rolling and chin rubbing the ground 1-2 ft away, then roll in the good stuff at the source, not all lures or all coyotes have the same reaction to the same odor, as I'm sure your aware of, but for maximum paws on the pan, I like to do what I stated above, I know through the years it has saved me some snapped traps . Just as some are hock caught there is a reason, they are approaching the set different because of what they smell, try carmans mega musk, that lure elicates alot of chin rubbing and rolling, is it a bad lure? No way, it should for maximum benefit be used in a different fashion.

I actually think I have seen that a time or two----but on reflection, its usually on some long dead animal- or some obnoxious "mystery" smell.
