A variation on the rabbit gutting is to pull off the head. Then insert the point of the knife at the base of the sternum and cut out through the neck splitting the sternum. Grab the rabbit by the hind legs and flip like a towel toward the ground. Nearly all insides will end up on the ground and the rabbit is clean.

Great thread!
I love how you go from turning fur, to borax, to creating spots on fur, gutting rabbits, etc.
Man, this is fur handling university!!!
The thread should be renamed: Miscellanous and other things
Loving it!

Great part about this site serge is a thread can metamorphasize into anything and some of the best come from it.
I'd like to try the borax thing and not turning on a fisher. Think it would work?

I've done skunks before and badgers. They're all in the same family. Why not?

Uh, .........no,, although the skunk doesn't look half bad if you can get by the smell. Badgers are way too rank. We ain't talking about the hillbilly rabbit gutting method anymore. 49er asked about borax/fur out on a fisher.
