If I took a photo it would be of re-cutting trail. We had a wet snow on Sunday. Season opened Tuesday. It's been setting and cutting, km. by km. Marten boxes are .5 km apart and the truck gets stopped 2/3 times between boxes. That isn't counting the slaloming between trees.
Quite the absence of tracks, also.
Pretty rough way to not make any money! But fun is being had so all is good!

Tman no offense but those fox are as flat as cardboard! I remember back in the day taking over 100 fox and mine never ever looked great until the 15-20 of November. Until about Christmas then they where rubbed badly. So a 4 week window for really prime fox even the young ones.
Blue skin fox in this market are going to be less than 7 dollars avg.
I sure do miss red fox easy to skin and smell way better than a coyote!
I remember years back having a couple places north of Sioux Falls ,SD that netted me 15 or more each year in 2 weeks.

no offense TC, but I don't give a crap about your idea of my fur.
I know who I sell to, I know what he will pay- and those are $15+ fox and that's good enough for me when they are INCIDENTALS
when I posted a grey fox a few years ago, you went on for many posts on how it was a $2 fox it was so flat- and I sold it for $18.
I'll listen to your nonsense on the political stuff- but I'm not going to argue MY fur, and MY selling of it.
you are more than free to comment on YOUR fur

new loop- 5 on sat- rained sat night lightly but for 5-6 hours and zero on sunday- then 5 yesterday. here a couple from monday this is an adult pair- the female is on the right- that's the biggest female coyote I believe I've ever caught- had a few tracks like this at a snapped set sunday- not a canine, round track, not much visible claw marks. Any thoughts? sorry for bad pic I should say, in a place 2 counties away, a couple of weeks ago we thought we saw cat- big, tan cat...passed over a 2 track, and head was entering one track, as body was leaving other- so a BIG cat, but 2 far away for a 100% id

If badgers ever dug straight down instead of stretching the chain, we'd never hold one LOL Nice pics

That badger dig is just amazing! A perfect moat. And he was handicapped to boot. I never saw one, we dont have them here in Pa.

Those badger photos are impressive. Wouldn't the land owners like badgers because they kill the gophers? Or is the mess they make not worth the predation they do.
Those geese are "coffee goose" or "smoked meat" goose in the raw.
I now understand the "edge"you trap. It is well shown in the photos. The big and empty isn't so big and empty when you understand!
