I caught 4 this year near a creek,dirtholes-piece of beaver tail in the hole, little backbreaker smeared at the top. Lost2 beavers on trail sets thought it was dogs but it was coyotes.I got em. Beaver is good bait.

I kid you not- coon disappears from my dumppiles faster than do rats from the coyotes. Even the eagles. etc seem to prefer coon- coon carcasses will be picked to the bone (and yes I know its coyote and birds) whereas rats and mink remain untouched til the end. Which is odd, because I get a mink or two each year pulled up out of water by coyotes- not so much eaten, as mauled

Wow I would have never thought coons over rats and yes I would think beaver would rank high.I do know around my parts hardly anything touches a otter they turn black and hardly ever are tampered with

I never had any luck with otter,I do however feed coon carcass to my cages, they eat them all but the teeth. Coldsteel you get another red coyote like that I'll buy it. I got a good market for unusual color hides. Just pm me.

clayman- I've seen it this year, where I pulled into a spot with a lot of fresh deer carcasses- and counted at least 50 Eagles sitting in trees, or coming off the deer- and there were more but we quit counting.
thanks for your good words clay............
