I've been battling bad hands all year usually they go away a month or so after all the fur is put up. Been doing way more concrete than I usually do in a summer. Anyways a few weeks ago I came across some gojo hand medic lotion and it has helped tremendously. I figured I would share that tip incase anyone is looking for a new lotion. I used to use the vaseline for men xtra strength stuff but this gojo is way better if you ask me. What stuff works for you gentlemen?

Burt's Bees Hand Salve. My wife picked up a can prior to last season and I used it through and continue. Best condition my hands have been in many years.

I've always had good luck with Bag Balm or Udder Creme-
I've tried that "super glue" stuff, and I don't like it cause it pulls the crack apart as it heals

I find Burts, Udder Creme. O'Keefes are work, vaseline is just a moisture barrier at least for me. If you would moisten your hands and then put vaseline on i could see it helping some. The first three i mentioned work very good. Some times i wear skinning gloves (clean LOL) at night after putting creme on and it helps alot with cracks ect.

Couple of things I like about this stuff: it goes a long ways, doesn't feel greasy after applying, and I can take a tin and rub it around the ball of my heels which also crack badly. You can apply this stuff to your hands, rub it in good, then actually play a hand of cards without the cards getting all greasy.

www.okeeffescompany.com/I tried everything till I got some of this stuff. The gal who invented this stuff dad is a rancher and she is a pharmacist if I recall right. I tried posting this on the IA forum last yr and got laughed at for it. Some folks work harder than others I guess.

Ive been using a lye soap to wash my hands with to remove the loose dry skin ,than applying the lotion to it has been working real well as the last to years of the dry weather has given me fits going into winter but lye saop has help slow /stop alot of the problems
tried about all the sauves bag balm, bag cream, vasiline, crisco ,wearing the gloves to bed only to wake tearing them off from a dead sleep ,dont use them as the greasey feeling or wiping it off onto everything ,but in any combo with the saop has really been the ticket this year

I'm like gary, I dont have any real trouble with my hands.
They'll get dry and a bit rough once in awhile but a shot of hand lotion takes care of that.

Come trapping season my hands crack and bleed even with lotion. Guess this old body just isnt producing skin oils, but this has been a problem all my trapping years and that is 57 years....

lee- on most lotions, they recommend washing first, to leave some moisture on the hands.
in severe cases of cracks, aka those working at nursing homes etc that need to wash their hands countless times a day, put lotion on at night, and place a sock over the hand for the night. Works wonders.

I have come to like DR Naylors balm. Sold in the Vet isle at Fleet farm. Comes in a red/tan square tin and says (The best part and now you know it works) "not for human use". I called the company and they said not to worry about it as they have high end athletes using it regularly as it actually has healing properties to it as it's good for cuts, etc.
The bad part is its greasy...so can't always use it. Put on before bed, or gloves works well. The good part is its greasy and doesn't come off easy...Can't have it both ways, I guess.
Started using it last fall and for the first time, my hands never got bad. Usually the corner of my thumbs crack open...never did last year.
A little goes a long way. One tin will last a LONG time. Never had much luck with the other stuff. Always end up with split fingers in the end.
