I need to find another digging tool since my last one has seen its better days.Local outlets dont carry what I want.I prefer a fiberglass/plastic composite handle.Any suggestions where to find a top grade tool. Heading West in a couple of weeks and would like to find one before leaving.

I'd check Forestry Suppliers or Ben Meadows.

Bought a couple a few years ago at either Lowes/HD? I'm sure you've checked there?

Had gotten a couple knock offs at lowes and home depot. Both bent or broke in a few days. When working and prying hard ground you know how hard that can be on tools.
I have looked at some forestry types before. will check into the baileysonline.com place.Appreciate the info.

Fleet Farm carries them if you have their stores around- actually has one of the best collections of hoes, axes, shovels, etc around

don`t know about your farm and fleet tman, but most of those farm supply stores carry chinese pot metal knock offs that wouldn`t last a day on the trapline. but they are cheap!

fleet farm is the preferred choice for sportsman and farmers wherever they have them. I've heard no cmplaints about their quality- and they put their money where the mouth is, and backed Mn hunting, trapping, fishing admendment big time.

Bob or anyone, How does this work on frozen ground compared to a trappers hammer? Denny

Works better due to the long handle, leverage, and you are standing up, which is more comfy AND it protects your eyes.
For true, late season, concrete-hard ground, I use a splitting maul......
Strong like bull.....
