If their are any traps I missed, beside 330's and 660's and 280's and so on, please share your thoughts. Footholds, not conibears please.

I said other, because I use CDR's! 7.5 jawspread like the MB 750.

I voted other too, I have never caught a beav by the foot but am gonig to try next season. I bought some sleepy creek 4 1/2s because of some feed back from a couple of guys I respect, Shag, and Robert W.

I like the MB750 because I can set it with out using setters.I'm not man enough to set those CDRs and #5 Bridger coils with out a setter.

Wow, I thought the Bridger #5 coils are quite easy to set. Are you saying the MB750s have softer springs than the Bridger #5 coil?

cdr, and bridger#5 coil for hind foot, and i like the bridger#3 for front foot catches , in drowning situations the larger traps work good on front feet, but when holding on long chains in shallow water the bridger#3 is not as bad to break legs and cause twist offs,

voted other, i use duke #5 double longs properly tuned, victor #14 jumps, and am experimenting with a sleepy creek 4 1/2 which is a beast. when i buy more traps, i most likely will go this route, i have a good buy on them if i want more new ones. i like longspring traps because of the extra weight to drown the beaver, i anchor window weights to my #14s to make them heavier. the #14 is a beaver killing machine. - forgot to say i install P-I-T pan systems on these to increase efficiency.

Dang I agree with the Beav .I like the 750 also good wide jaw spread and I don't need a setting tool screw having something else to keep up with

Bridger #5 and CDR's equal number of each. The bridger pan/dog set up and the PIT are my choice

5 dukes , easy to set over the knee, posi pan set up and cheap price. 20 bucks new. Plus a long spring beds easy and solid. I must say i have yet to look at the sleepy creek 4 1/2 , they sound good .

Guys, If you use longsprings on beaver you need to take a look at the DUKE #5. This is an awesome trap! Comes equipped with a PIT pan system and GOOD springs.
I modified a few last fall for mtn lions and was very impressed with them.

the duke 5s i got a few years ago needed the jaw edges heavily sanded to make for a smooth action closing trap, i was seeing sparks and having metal chunks fly before i did this. im talking about the part of the jaw where the spring eyes ride up. after i did this they are super fast and i wax them too. i dont think it is legal to use a trap bigger than 7.5 inches. i need to review the exact wording.

Got rid of all my CDR's except for one to save and have all MB 750's now! I like handling, setting, and have better luck with MB's as compared to CDR's. Happy trapping. ScottW
