Other. 14 Jump and CDR's. I wouldn't give you a dollar for a truck load of long springs If I had to trap with them here. Way too much to get tangled on the under water debris.

I was using #5 Bridger double longs. Im going to CDRs now and using all the #3s and #4s I have left in the water to help on incidental beavers and otters at sets for smaller targets. Im gonna load up on #3 coils for that too. rk660, if I could legally use 10 inch big iron for beaver I definitely would and possibly build my own, maybe patterned like the #44 B&L. We are limited to 7.5s here in NC where trapping is influenced by some dick head special interest groups and just starting to come out of the stone age, at least on the western end. The down east boys are really layin it to the beavers and otters with CDRs. The big jawspread of the #5s makes all the difference in the world on my beaver trapping and I dont spend near as much time messing around with exact trap placement or drop sticks. I was using #4 double longs and had about 45% of the success Im having now with back foot beaver catches in #5s. E.J. Dailey once asked the folks at B&L to make him up a dozen #2 1/2 old style shureholds for front foot beaver catches. I always thought that was an interesting idea and would work for the masters that can get a high percentage front foot catch.

what im using is a doublejaw mb 750, and stacking anotehr jaw on top of stock jaw, really a doublejaw. I did this because less work just to add a jaw than cut and lenthen jaws, plus extend dog and crossframe. MAYBE, you might check and since doublejaw and if they meas inside jaw it might slip through the cracks legally speaking. prolly depends who ya talk to and how bad they want a beaver trapper to be effictive. might be worth checking into.
