Hey Ya'll,
Im trapping about 200 acres right now untill deer season ends. The guy who owns it has showed me where he puts his trailcam and he says everytime he checks his pics they are loaded with coyote, fox, and cat. Well i put out a few sets a few days ago and lured them with Cachootier, TKO, and Lenons Bobcat Lure. I checked them everyday for a few days and I havent caught squat. I kinda felt uneasy about the area b/c i didnt find and footprints or poop but he just has so many pics of them there. Im going to go dump a few barrels of deer guts and stuff near there in a day or so to try to keep them in the area and such. So my question is do ya'll have any tips. I used some Gusto and Stefs call lure. Im using Stepdown Dirtholes and just regular dirtholes.

Here are some pics he got 2 weeks ago, the dates on the cam are wrong so ignore that. Here is a pic of where the trail they are taking leads into the foodplot. The cam is hung on this trail so the pics you see are taken by this cam. There are 2 fox in the second pic.

If you're setting on the trail, and the guy isn't yanking your chain (no tracks or poop?) be patient. It'll happen.
I know diddley about bobcats/yotes but try checking your gear from a distance.

I know very little about 'Cat Trapping, but I would suggest having a little more patience. Maybe Derek or Sheri could help you out some!

dirthole sets set on that trial, lured with those lures, will work. Be patient-

I've had cat sets sit for 45 days before I caught the cat. I set the trap on cat tracks so it was that long until he came back through. I've also caught them in less than 12 hours. Last year I lost my wallett trapping so I ran my line backwards. I had had a cat in a trap I had set the night before and it was 6:00 am . I've noticed the cats you catch the next day or 2 seem to be females.

CJ, when your done making your set, you need to quit taking a leak in the bush next to your trap! Take my advice on this and you will get your cat.

Five days ha ha!! Out here it could be 5 weeks.
Hang something up for the cat to see like a piece of fur if legal or a turkey feather on a fishing swivel.
Use fake fur if you need to. Some guys like aluminum foil.
I like the furfindr squeakers for sound.
Don't be timid with cats, show and tell them what you want them to do.
They aren't coyotes.

I haven't caught anything but a fox, but I can tell you that I set on a travelway, and saw no action for four weeks, pulled the traps, and now they come thru and tear the old set apart! lure there for 7 weeks, not freshened! Unless it is killin you for time, Stay away from the sets while you check em,(binoculars) and be patient. My sets got hot when I stopped walking anywhere them.( I'm still wet behind the ears, JMHO)

My location looks just like yours, I think my presense around there made them wary, I used all the normal scent precautions, but I believe these guys are trap wise, plus I don't have your numbers. Show us those pics!!!(you might want to cable the carcass to a tree for better pics)GOOD LUCK!
