very interesting indeed- I'd imagine 20 bears would be a bit more work that a guy wants to do.

I don't use a HIGH call lure by every set, indeed I seldom do.
I do use a call lure AT every set
a blanket statement of something in the wind is going to be blown on more than something out of the wind, is a blanket i'll gladly wear
so by us just saying 6ft high call lure is better for trapping coyotes than 18" call lure, that too is just a statement without the proof.
I'll say 6 feet is higher than 18"
I know you will argue that-
but trust me, it is-
and SCEINCE shows us the effect of wind currents on objects (and scent IS an object)
the more wind currents, the more area dispersed.
again- no wild guess- pure fact
so if you can't make the leap, then you can't.

simple rules- post on this thread
1) no more than 1 picture a day 2) short caption & story if desired 3) to keep it viewable, any comments, etc will be deleted- just pictures
1-3 place, popular choice, I break any ties

I think FWS could show me a CA that I'd fall in love with- CA does have a tremendous amount of opportunity for hunting and fishing.
Its interesting to me, on how some people can move 3000 miles at a drop of a hat, and others die within miles of their birthplace.
Count me in the later- I value my heritage- I grew up in these hills and marshes and rivers ..with the biggest river of all running not only through my backyard, but at not only the widest spot on the river, but on the Upper Mississippi Refuge- an outdoorsmen's paradise.
using guns and traps and fishing rods my dad, and his brothers, and my granddads used- in the same fields and streams.
I like that- I like the continuity
the only place I that could tempt me would be the sagebrush rock outcrop type of the west- I did feel a kinship to the land while staying at the kids coyote trapping a few years ago. I like mixed badlands type & can well imagine if I'd have been born there, I'd have never left

whos says its that bad, or any bad? I don't care either way- its might be a problem, but not my problem
here is howells quote-
Fish Wildlife and Parks ramped up its efforts to enforce trapping violations because the agency knew high prices might incentivize people to ignore regulations.
“We got a lot of reports of abuses from people,” Anderson said.
The outlaws got creative in their rule breaking. Some held animals from the previous year in a freezer as a way to get around the state’s quota system. In one case a man trapped a bobcat in the North Fork/Flathead area where the quota was closed and drove to Havre to claim it in a region that wasn’t closed. State Game Warden Ron Howell was able to work with other wardens to catch the man and issue a citation.
or-
If you go over by Dog Lake towards Plains along the reservation line there’s literally a set, I’m not kidding, sometimes 10 feet apart,” Howell said.
“There are just lines and lines of sets, right against the reservation line.”
Howell issued citations to trappers in the Dog Lake area who went a half-mile into the reservation to place their traps.
“You could see tracks where these guys had been all over the reservation looking,” Howell said. “It’s pretty popular.”
your thought out response was "hes an anti"
how, pray tell, did you deduce he is an anti, from that quote?
my income depends on my trapping lic- I follow the law- if I am in violation its inadvertent (coyote chewed off a tag and I didn't notice it)-
I reported a guy setting coon buckets all over the country a week before the opener a few years ago- am I an anti too?

Lee, when we collared, we had a mated pair that was always on one side of a backroad 2 lane blacktop road. To the edge, but never over. for many months, close to a year if I remember right.
the male died, and in a short time (weeks) the female had crossed over to the other side, and was then always found on that side of the hwy when monitored.

Feinstein was nominated for the lowest federal legislative offive- a rep tat only has ot answer to a small, select minority
Romney was nominated by the Republicans as a national leader running for the highest national office
He followed bush who led us into a worst case scenario at the national level, and thankfully the court refused his arguement
the POINT- is its silly for Reps to get on a high horse concerning gun control laws.
esp nationally
I like christie- I could vote for Christie-
those other rep POS- no

To clarify-
those directly involved with fighting these new proposed laws, asked me if they could have a private place to discuss actions and tactics in this fight. The board is password protected, so that it is not viewable but to those having a password to the board.
If you are involved in this contact either of the two moderators
it was not set up to be forum for dicusison or viewing- simply as what it is- a private chat room for those DIRECTLY involved, as an aid to their communication
so nothing secret, nothing nefarious- just being cautious

He willing and more importantly able, to answer your questions and to give you points and tips-

good coyotes will be worth good money-
commercial types- the vast majority of coyotes offered- wil lbe low priced, if they sell at all
I think the market reports in the various mags are spot on- and there will be a lot of crying from those with commercial coyotes, expecting the big money others are talking about.
if you don't have good clear thick bellies, pale colors- you aren't going to see $30, let alone $50
