I made it a point to catch 100 canine in 14 checks days this year in Ohio. I have done it before, but it took me 6-7 weeks to do. I accomplished my first 100 off of an ATV. This year I decided to do it out of a truck. In 7 days I’ve hit 60. It has been a great experience. Looking forward to the next few days, we had rough weather here in Ohio… mix weather patterns, but I’ll keep pushing forward, and hopefully I’ll be able to post some pictures/videos soon.

thats a tough goal for sure. A 7 a day average is doing very well. Hope the weather cooperates. I'll be starting tomorrow- went out the other day with a buddy and that took the edge off.

Great job and best of luck to you both. I’ll be checking back for updates. Trying to get myself motivated to get back out there this year.

10 day total of 82 right now. Sunday I’ll finish checking my initial line, and start transitioning to my work line. I got lucky with my work schedule and will be off Monday. Plan to add some new farms/locations closer to home and my work commute. My main line that I originally set is starting to run stale. Will leave the anchors and come back in late December or early January and see if there’s any action present.
I had a chew out on a snare crawl under. Woven wire… the snare was 3/32 7x7. Hate having that happen. I know we all try to minimize misses/losses, but hopefully I can learn a thing or two from it.
Good luck to those starting up soon, and praying for some form out outlet to market the fur.

South Central Ohio.
Ended up catching 100 in 18 days. All from footholds. Running the NO BS jrs and some #2 square jaws (modified). Only used commercial/natural bait and coyote urine.
Ran hard for 12 days, about 2500 miles. Filled the gas tank everyday and it cost anywhere from $46-$50 a day. Running about 200 miles daily.
Started my work line after the 12th day and on day 6 of it hit my goal. Ended up with 100 coyotes and 15 reds (all reds released with meds given). I have picked up a few more here and there since November 5th, but I need to rotate farms this weekend. “New places with fresh faces”
Definitely a great experience I won’t forget.

Not quite that far. Chillicothe Ohio area. The fur isn’t terrible, I actually think it’s the best overall condition it will be on the average at this time period. Although they will prime up as the season progresses they seem to face other issues.
