2:21 PM CT ESPN.com news services Facebook Twitter Pinterest Email print comment Hall of Fame coach Mike Ditka didn't mince words when asked his opinion of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the national anthem prior to NFL games.
"I think it's a problem ... anybody who disrespects this country and the flag," Ditka, an ESPN analyst, said during a radio interview Friday with 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. "If they don't like the country they don't like our flag ... get the hell out."
"I have no respect for Colin Kaepernick -- he probably has no respect for me, that's his choice," he added. "My choice is, I like this country, I respect our flag, and I don't see all the atrocities going on in this country that people say are going on."
A number of NFL players have joined Kaepernick in kneeling for the anthem, including his 49ers teammate Eric Reid and Arian Foster, Kenny Stills and Jelani Jenkins of the Miami Dolphins.
Women's soccer player Megan Rapinoe, who is white, has knelt during the national anthem as a show of support for Kaepernick, and the entire Indiana Fever team knelt and locked arms Wednesday night before the teams' first-round game in the WNBA playoffs.
"I see opportunities if people want to look for opportunity -- now if they don't want to look for them -- then you can find problems with anything," Ditka said. "But this is the land of opportunity because you can be anything you want to be if you work. If you don't work ... that's a different problem. "

I believe in the first amendment or dikta couldn't say what he wants either.
Notice what happened to the teacher in Fayetteville, NC he got suspended without pay for 10 days wonder why?
That was the school using their first amendment rights and also school policy.
Again we all have free speech but none of us can yell BOMB on airplane or bus.
The looser is the NFL as their viewing numbers are down not by a little and I can tell you Kapernick jersey sales do not make up what they are and will loose if they allow this to continue , he has the right to disgrace the anthem and flag for sure, millions of others have the right to turn off the TV and not watch the NFL.
The thing is for the NFL it ALL comes down to money, once that amount hits a certain point they will inject on the issue, they have to,

So we can see more of the side line circus?
None of this will do anyhting for bringing change , just something for sports media and main stream to talk about. When was the last time main stream media talked positive things going on in the country?

HS Team get very little coverage , yes I am aware of the college protest we had the entire debacle at U of Missouri and that cost them big time and will for a period of years. Lots of people not happy over that one.
Entire cleaning of house and multiple AD's now gone over that debacle. How they ever get people to work there is beyond me.
