I am currently using Wolf Fang anchors and I am thinking about trying something different, either super stakes (SS) or Iowa Disposables (IDs). I really like the wolf fangs holding power, but I always have issues with the driver fitting the anchor, after a while they start binding. I am interested in those that have used either SS od IDS's and how well they like them. Also whom has the best driver for either style. Thanks
Aaron

Aaron when I was in Ga. I used the super stakes they worked great it was all hard clay and just a few sandy areas. They are pricey.I use the Iowa stake here in Iowa they make the driver wrong they don't weld in the attaching like Ron did so I put the stake on the opposite way point to point then the stake comes off easy. www.kegcreekbaits-lures.com

When I used IDS, I would leave the back side cut off flat. Make the driver flat, then they couldn't bind against each other and jam. Now I prefer fender washers. Buy a driver, then the washers and rivets are cheap. Easy to make, cheap, hold good.

well aaron- I made the decision this year to go 100% with wolf fangs. Had some troubles last year with other types in very wet ground- have heard nothing but good about them- so will be committed for at least a year
I've heard on the driver, to take a file and slightly widen the grooves to aid in release. Will try that. I went with the 30" drivers- going to go with 18" of cable

I also decided to stick with the wolf fangs, as I talked to a couple of guys about maintaining drivers. I used a cut off blade on my metablo and cleared out a little extra room.

Steve, what issues did you have with them last year?

I've been using them for many years, and they worked well in my soil.
but in the very wet ground we had last year, we had a problem with getting them turned in the ground properly
I've heard nothing but good from wolf fangs- what kept me from going to them earlier is I hate special equipment, but decided the trade off in needing one, will be worth it.
