Leggy, strong and good looking. Just the way I like them.
The pup is a looker, too! 13 or 15 inch?

I've got a measuring stand, just haven't dug it out yet. My guess is he is 14 1/4-
saw a big coon in a field Friday, thought I could get him up a pole- mickey was going crazy- if he would have went up the pole, I'd have let mickey trail and tree him
as my grandson says when he babysits Mickey and takes him for a walk- hes a chick magnet!

Beagle story: Last summer a childhood bud decided he wanted another hunting beagle. So he contacted another childhood bud that lives in Ontario to look up a litter. We had all had beagles in our teens and 20's and hunted together. We all stopped having them.
Ontario buddy got a female from a good field trial litter. He came down to Quebec for duck opener bringing the pup. The three of us hadn't hunted together in over 20 years and the dog was the excuse to have a reunion. Ontario buddy picked up the pup, put it in a kennel and drove the 8 hours to the meeting place. The pup howled the whole way. I got a few messages saying. "I'm going to kill myself if the dog doesn't stop howling."
The dog STILL freaks out in a truck even though it rides in one twice a day as Quebec buddy takes the dog to work with him. I guess being separated from the litter and riding in a kennel scarred it.
Funny thing about the dogs name. Quebec buddy had a name picked up. Or I should say that his wife had a name picked out. But Ontario buddy told the breeder that the name of the dog was Harper. Named after the former Canadian prime minister that Quebec buddy couldn't smell. It is as if Steve's dog was named Trump!
Let's just say that we still laugh at that. Well, maybe not the wife .... they don't call the dog Harper.

good story!
Mickey is the most vocal beagle I've owned, out of literally hundreds.
but it is nice when we come home- "mommy, daddy, I thought I'd never see you again!!!"

Pups are always chick magnets!
A friend stopped the other day, he asked me to put out the word that he had one female left. 8 weeks old for $200. Said he kept 2, and sold the other 5. They're out of good blood lines, forget what all he did say, parents were champs here and there, etc.
Mickey does look like he has a big head. And I'm sure he has a bigger heart. Gotta love a dog.
