Ron what is the difference between a breeder ranch mink and a region 111? It seems there are a lot more lower grade mink selling this round then I have read before. 1.9 million region 111 mink is a very high percentage of this auction round. Have these been stored for some time and being let go during a down market and or to clear the inventory?

Most of the years Section III mink are held for this sale. A lot of ranchers are also quicker to get their better goods on the earlier sales. You generally see this most years, same with Kopenhagen, Saga, and ALC.
Breeders are generally males that were pelted in late February - March so the fur quality will be different than the masses that were pelted in November. They are, in most cases, different than Section III's if they don't have an excessive amount of rubbing or damage. A certain amount of fur damage (broke or rubbed) is expected but not excessive enough to be Section III. This is why they have their own category of "Breeder". Actually no different than categories of rats, "Fall", "Winter" or "Spring".

I believe also included in these are mink where the farmer is reducing his herd and older females he is culling out.

So looking at the numbers coyotes will avg 15.00 in the country this fall and this way around 7-8 each LOL. Coons will be a 3.00 dollar item here. So means no coon trapping, killing coyote just to keep them in check and skin the best 5 percent for tanning. Will kill more summer time coyotes this year to help out some guys but looking at the skinning machine staying quite unused this fall and winter.
