Setting out the beaver line the big water is terrible muddy. The first stop about lost my boots in the muck.Must be from all the fall flooding.Have a lot of straight up and down banks hard to get into.I first thought old age must be catching up to me.Sure a lot of beaver to work with.Looks like I am going to get rich!!! www.kegcreekbaits-lures.com

I hate seeing beaver on my small creeks- they really screw things up for me insofar as rats/mink- but this time of year I wish I had a few more around.
I like trapping beaver, but gol darn is it hard work. Creeks here are at summer levels- we got a skiff of snow yesterday, but I don't think we had more than 10-12 inches all winder, and the most at 1 time was 5. We had a lot of fall rain but that was soaked up, and the ground is such now, that any big rains (suppose to be a TS next tues)shouldn't cause much runoff.
Good luck marty!

Given the market conditions, are you fur trapping or castor trapping? Both?
We got 5 feet of snow in the last 3 weeks. There's no way I'd be setting for beaver right now.

Im going to be setting for castor plus tanning and hooping bvr hides for tourist or mountain man trade, always been more money in that except when bvr were $1.00 an inch. Got to put some hoops together so ready when tanned bvr hides are done.

The beaver look good for the most part. The big females a little rough but I don't think they are ever good around here.I have a lot of castor on hand.I like trapping them I don't know if they are big or if Spring is a great time of year to be out. www.kegcreekbaits-lures.com
