haven't talked to my buyer yet...postponing the news I guess...but in a poll so to speak of fur buyers in the area..... Cumberlands, Groeny, FH and NAFA...the prices are not good.
if ever a year to harvest nothing early, this is it.
averages-
green coon- WITH dinks and junk tossed out- $4-5 put up mink...and this is mind boggling....females $2-3, males $4-5 put up rats- still decent in the $3-4 range
beaver- perhaps some upward movement
coyotes- down some from last year but still good value- so take what you got last year for averages and downgrade it some
fox- similar to last year
I did hear that mink MIGHT, a tenuous might, have a little upward movement
maybe the predicted short harvest with tick prices upward...one can hope-
at least gas is down more than $1.50 from last season, and supposed to be under $2 later I nthe fall- course, low oil prices is one reason fur prices low...but hey, any silver lining.
any news from other areas?

Buyers here are talking about not making offers on coon as some are sitting on them from the last few years.
Bobcats will be off as well 50-70 avg, otter not great either 30-35 tops. We have a commerical grade coyote except for 1-50 will grade better in this tough market . So look for 15-17 for avgs on mo coyotes. Thinking I will ship coyotes this year and try my luck unless things change for the better on coyotes.
Really doesn't matter as my son and I will be trapping once again no matter fur prices. Buying some top lot wood stretchers this weekend. Ordered some more bait and lure from Keg creek and we will be ready to,invest some time and money and enjoy ourselves. That is what trappers do, we aren't in it for the money but the fun times together and him learning more each year about animals, habits and trapping.

Mink will be ten and five I think without doubt. To me that is the bottom with some upside. Coon I think 4,5 green sounds about right. Rats your about right too. Beaver you got a ten dollar or so hatter market .You tell me on eastern coyotes, red fox I think you are looking around 10-15 dollar averages. imo of course.
