hi guys,first time poster and im just wondering how you fellas adjust the pan on a modified Montana trap,i found a thread on it in the archives but the pictures have been deleted. hoping someone might still have them that they might share as im having trouble getting the pan to sit below the jaws.

bend the crossframe in ( it's sort of an up)at the set side

if its REAL bad you may have to place a screwdriver under the pan near the pivot and push (bend ) pan down over it slightly

Hi dingo22-
you aren't going to be able to make the pan sit below the jaws- the "hinge" itself is higher, so all bending does, is to angle the pan downward.
BUT- the only reason its a concern, is if you are using very stiff screens. A still screen will fire the trap when yo utry to get the jaws to lay flat-
but I've found a little less stiff screen, works just fine. I buy mine at Menards (a regional farm store) and it works very well

If its up at the spring pin (crossframe) and there is plenty of room between the jaw and cross frame you can bend the cross frame down where the spring pin crosses it, bending it up at that same point will raise the pan.
