in the books- camera broke, new one on order so no pics had a very successful loop- with 5 loops, and 6 weeks this year- stayed a few extra days on this loop, and it's been the best year ever for it. not only hit my "need" goal, but hit my "like to have goal" 6 doubles, and 1 triple- if the rest of season is like this- I'll have my best year by far but always 1 loop.... Anyone else trapping, or am I only one?

I am at my second day of setting. This time next week the line should almost be all done. Then again - it's never all done!
I don't even have any rat sets out yet. They were going to be a priority! Lots of rain and lots of water. Several beaver dams broke and many cottagers are a little cranky. I also heard the most sightings of wolves ever. One guy saw a pack of six and another guy had his dog attacked. The dog is a malamute and seems fine. Several people saw "one."
I'm set for them but they have to come back. Moose season ends today and I couldn't go too far from the truck while setting. There were many more people in the woods than I expected. Guys were a little stressed as the moose kill is about 60% of normal. They blame the bears and wolves. However, when I point out that too many hunters are killing calves, they don't take it well.
The woods will begin to be quiet tomorrow and life should get back to normal for trappers and furbearers.

I don't start until the middle of December down here. The fur isn't ready until then. January after deer season is when we really get going.

How many miles does loop one cover for 1 trip and how many traps are you running on average?
Thanks Brent
