I live near Winona, MN. I am looking to purchase some wood stretchers for coyotes. Does anyone make them that lives near Winona? What are my other options?

Check the Trap Shack in Arcadia....he has a trap supply company he runs. In fact, he's having an open house type of thing from 9-2 today.

born and raised in Winona, and still go down a couple of times a month-
don't know what Tom has for wooden stretchers- but I can tell you this- Rallys dad Bill makes some of the nicest wood boards around- if Yom in arcadia doesn't have any, it would be worth a call and a drive up to Hill City. only wooden board I buy. and reasonable- I think $12 a piece a summer ago when I bought more from him.

Gerald Schmitt our forum sponsor has some good split coyote stetchers that Leon W or Top lot makes. Interesting that the fellows up north are using them for Lynx stretchers since they have the same neck placement. Gerald has increseaded the price to compensate for over size shipping charges. they are nice

I met Gerald and his family at the NTA convention in MI. I'll have to make a trip to visit them and take a look at the boards. Thanks

I need a good source somewhere closer to Dixie and maybe save some shipping. That is if anyone knows of someone around NW Louisiana.

Make your own from 1 X 10 lumber. Dimensions are at NAFA.ca if you click around a bit.

That's the cheapest route, for sure.

trouble is, unless you are getting a good wood, wooden stretchers can be more of a pain than a treasure. Nothing worse than some woods when trying to put in pins, or even with how it dries the pelt. and subtle differences in shape make a huge difference. Wish I would have known that earlier- many of my first bought wood stretchers are simply poor quality and the wrong wood.
I've found a seller that makes a very good basswood board, and they are a pleasure to work with.
my advice is buy a few from several different makers- you will soon figure out which ones you like- then stock up.

Good idea. My problem is that I thought I had bought right and after getting the NAFA book I found that not any are according to their measurements. So now guess I've got to start over.
