Do you guys ever get a hide tanned to keep,or mounted. Those memorable ones. Or does all the fur get sold? Id like to hear from everybody .thanks

I was never one to keep fur-
but when I caught my first blonde coyote 20 or so years ago, I did get that one tanned. and I got my 86lb beaver tanned
but when lori started trapping, we got more into the tanned fur- we got loris first red, first coyote, first coon and first grey tanned, and since then have gotten our first legal otter tanned as well as my first Wyoming coyote, a blackish coyote, and a few odds and ends like a big skunk.

I need to get my wife to post pictures I caught 2 black coyotes this year as well as 2 red ones one looked like a red fox on steroids it was so red.I also caught alot of solid black otter this year I have caught a few in years pass but this year I think I ended up with 10 or 11 that were black as a ace of spades.I had one in a dry crossover in a 220 with the sun hitting him it looked almost purple .

I took my son and couple of his buddies had a cat double and a coyote double all in30 yards,give all the kids a hide and cleaned the skulls up nice for their birthdays. That was my favorite and most memorable.the kids seeing mostly.

I've kept a few wolves (a red one and my first in a jake) as well as a three footed bear that was a challenge to catch. I also have a silver fox. I do get some hides tanned but resell them when I can get a good price.

Yes they did clayman.I dont mention live market much I know alot of people are against it but can you imagine what my average on coyotes run at Nafa.I don,t have a pretty coyote bobcat or coon of red fox so I market my fur the best I can
