well, its only 20 votes, so not much of a concensous
making enough wax dirt for a season is beyond the amount of time I want to spend- and from talking to those that use it, or more importantly those that did and do no more, seems to give me the impression, its pretty good, but not infallible
that's my impression of peat as well- and I can get my peat ready for the year in minutes- buy it and I'm done.
the secret of peat, at least for me, is to NOT use only the minimum required to bed a trap. That way just got me avoidance and standbacks
Instead, use peat like you have all the peat in the world- cover the trap, then make a mottled pattern over the extended pattern (5,6,7 feet)so its as much peat as dirt- and then over the trap, forget covering the trap completely even with a light layer- leave that mottlde look over the trap as well-
I don't get enough digging at the trap, to count on one hand over a season
