Is it just me or do many coyotes have a problem with a lot of burdocks in the fur. Any easy way to pull put the darn things? Snared a couple the last few days in different areas and both of them are a pain. Seems like in my limited experience with coyotes far too many of them were like this. Part of the many reasons there not my favorite animal.

It just takes patience to untangle them from the fur and pick them out, one by one. I've discovered that if you soak them awhile with water they will soften somewhat, and it makes it easier on the fingers to handle them.

Just don't hang your snares in the burdock! Lol
If they are real bad it's usually best to soak them in water with a little bit of child's hair detangler mixed in, if just a couple spots use WD-40 sprayed on the spots.

I've tried all the above, and at times I think its the ticket, other times not so much. Finally down to old school- I spread out the burrs, fluffing them up around the fur (many times easier said than done), then use a steel toothed comb to comb them out- I worried in past that the comb might take out too much underfur, but you cannot even tell when done

One time i had a bvr that was just covered with stick tites and they were STUCK! I used the cheap hair softener and they brushed out with fur comb.... Without the softener they wouldn't budge.
