We were setting traps at a location yesterday just before dark, and Buddy saw me throw a gopher down a hole, and he was standing there like a nut howling at me {he hates gophers}while we were making sets- As we were putting things back into the truck, standing by the edge of a hill was a big old coyote, just looking at us. I have no doubt he came to see what all the howling was about. pretty cool way to end the day

from yesterday, here are the sets we were making- click it A spot.....perhaps not THE spot, but "A" spot for sure. Meaning an attraction point (the little round woods behind the truck is actually an old sand quarry- part of a unique ridge of glacier rock, etc that runs maybe 10 miles, anything dead goes there), another attraction point to the right of that quarry, a little closer (where the weeds are- actually a quite large piece of an old manure pile- manure is piled here every other year or so, this year just old scrapings with weeds all around) and in 4 directions are fairly large dairy operations (in the patches of isolated trees) I catch a lot of coyotes here. also got a badger- usually catch 5-6 but first this year
