I will stick with my Montgomery Victor 4's.Just base plate them and go no need for heavy Lamination on a 1 day check and notch will stay and screen lays flat.

On the screen I just rip it over the notch the same as I do the dog on pans. Cut slots in the screens for years on the dogless. I like that adjustment bolt just like they did on the old Northwoods #4

They have been holding up well.Every 3 days I get a double at this one spot. This big ugly dog was just grinding on the trap and it keeps right on working great.Nice to cut a track and see a spin out in the snow and nobody leaves.

Motrapperjohn will have to answer I just posted the pic for him LOL. My bet would be he cut the back tab off where the dog attached and knocked out the insert for the pan post and used that hole? My educated guess is all.

Motrapperjohn, what does the mod kit come with and is it for dog on, dogless, or both? Best I can tell from the pics is a bolt on PIT base plate, large Monty type pan, and a spring pin stop??

I really like my Montana #3's with no modifications. However, this year I am going to buy some Montgomery dogless traps since they are made in the USA...

I have 1/2 dz of the new modified Bridger #3 dogless in the ground. I really like what I see so far. The QC looks very good and the pan / bolt / nut set up looks promising.
I do NOT like the factory offset and I would prefer wire levers/springs but I am still impressed so far.
Will try to post a pic when I connect.

That was a stock #3 bridger, removed the 2 rivits on the cross frame, installed my crossframe and pan assembley with new rivits and my spring pin brace. Of coarse it helps to remove the springs so the jaws are out of the way.
