Built up a few more 3 bridgers I like the new non weld Conner shocks springs, saves some time and plenty stout for coyotes this way. Added a few more daggers for the boy. He is excited, added a few more coon spots for him to set up. Should be fun. I will be ordering 6 each of the two new DPs out to try the Bridgers and the freedom brand which some are talking highly of.

We will trap some but with my boy coons, coons and more coons. They are fun and ample and my boy loves setting those dp's. I have 4 really good coyote locations I will set he likes seeing them bounce around, but the coon numbers down here are crazy high. Greys are fairly numerous as well. Last year we had two spots that netted 20+ coons! 4 others in the teens. This year I look for even better action. Coyotes all along the Missouri River drainage down this way. For me right now though it is all about this

I weld key stock on them. I do have some of the rod ones as well in my pile. Other wise they are a very soft dog. I have some 2 Bridgers modified that I used JB weld on a few years back and a few had popped off some still going strong. I think the sani flush works on the JB weld over time.

Nope some I picked up over the summer. I have 78-80 more as well.. Not 200 like some but enough for me and the kids to keep busy enough and many I check prior to work. If each one catches like I think we wil do ok on coons down this way.
I know there coyote whisper I can read your mind LOL. Right now my efforts go into my kids who for many years took second fiddle to my career of ADC work . Now I spend time going to band compitions in the fall until end of October and springtime. I spend time coaching my sons baseball team, I play softball myself every weekend through Ocotber as my son enjoys being my coach LOL. I will have time for ME again as in the next 3 years I will have 3 kids in college. Until they are off and on their way I choose to spend more time watching and helping them. My youngest is my trapping buddy and he is 9 now and by the time he is a teenager then we can start gearing up for some long days and nights together. The basics are being learned now by the time he is 13 things will ramp up a lot. Baseball in the summer, trapping all fall and winter. He is good at baseball and wants to take it far. I will support him 110 percent. As all my kids. My oldest is off the charts smart , no he didn't get that from me LOL. He has already takin 3 college courses and has 3 more going on this semester. Chemical Engineer betting he does it in 3 years time.
So before you pull out the aw man you only own 80 DP'S what do you know line, I can tell you the ones I have , have seen a pile of coons go through them and I know what works the best for me, and the Dukes ain't it LOL. YOu can keep the one way triggered dukes I will stick with the 2 way sq tubed Daggers all day long.

39 agree with the two way. Changed all my dukes to two way so they can compete with Daggers, waiting for some Bridgers to show up and try this fall also....Not going to ND this year south of Dickenson, going to harrass the yotes and wolves at home.... and the few coon that are left from a distemper outbreak.

Rdfx sold off my dukes and replaced with some used Daggers, I like the square tubes better and I like the keeper bar underneath for better holding power as well instead of just the smooth tube of the dukes. I have no doubts that your new and improved dukes will out perform them on just the pull trigger only. I saw it like night and day my daggers versus my dukes set side by side, really no comparison for me and my son.
I will take the skunks and all the rest, I want a high efficient DP trap and the daggers do it up well with speed and ease of setting. Love those circle triggers for sure! The kill area is large!

Well not always, if a person sets 50 traps in 10 good locations versus a guy that sets150 traps trying to catch the same general critters in a few areas who will have better success?

lol- well, I COULD comment......
it all comes down to the one setting the traps. In many ways, I could argue that setting fewer traps, makes you more efficient, since often one 'wastes" traps by putting too many at one location.
what I DO thing matters most- is TIME. the more time one puts in, in all kinds of weather and in all seasons, cannot help, if one is paying attention, but to give you a better understanding of the animals.
What they do when it does this, or that- or where they are NOW, etc is what makes someone a superior trapper, not how many traps hes got out.

Ditto on yr thoughts plus knowing the animals habits along with the changes in weather makes a difference if your ready for them if they start to move or change habits.
