Hey Y'all,
My neighbor down my street is having armadillo problems. She called some removal guy and he quoted her stuff, but then sent out an e-mail to our neighborhood association with this info.
I personally think the guy is straight up bs'ing her. What do y'all think?
Hi all...The Trutech guy came over and gave me an estimate for a single or group program. His company usually charges $489 for the initial trapping and then $75/month for monthly application of a “deterrent” than masks the scent trail they leave to the areas where they feed. This scent also attracts other dillos to the feeding area and possible mate. For all of us in neighborhood, he will give us the discounted rate of $289 then $65/per month for the contracted 11 months. If anyone can come up with something better or be willing to organize a midnight dillo hunting posse then let everyone know. I need to do something fast!!!

That is a fair price if the person is running a legit business, you have to pay for business insurance, wages, fuel, vehicle, and vehicle insurance, taxes and the list goes on and on. Cell phones are not free, advertising is not free. Sounds like a lot but keep in mind that somehow you still need to make a profit Nothing last and you have to always factor in the cost of replacement and wear and tear on your equipment.
If you want to trap it for beer money go ahead, my advice is to write a check for a hundred bucks and give it to the homeowner you will both be further ahead. Jim

ya the guy might have a lot of up keep, BUT you should not have to keep him and his famly, & keep him in a new truck ect, ect, and send his kids to calege for the nexet 10 years over a stuped armodil , thats just conplet bull crap. if I lived close to her, I don't drink but I would do it for some soda pop money, hey he don't know what he may have to deal with in life. and remmber you WILL rep what you so, that's all I have to say about it.

if the jobs not to bad I charge $10 a peace for ground hogs and & $25 for shunks, and that is a plunly, so don't tell me that is a fair price. that is just plan old rodding her. tell her to buy her self a cheep cage trap and get the neighbor boys to do it for a Little extra cash. I don't have them critters here but if we did, and if they are as easy to catch as cmr2 sayes they are I would do it for $10 or $ 15

and your business is ?for how long? agree with Gibbs ,but geuss its a differ mindset being in business and a hobbiest mindset My business is Trapping and I make a Great liveing doing it without robbing some one, but I guess if i lived in a big city where poelpe don't care about each other I would do the samething, but Thanks be to the LORD I don't live in a big city, and poeple help and care about each other where I'm from that all. so I don't mean to afend anyone I just think that that is conpletely out of hand thats all.and I have been doing what I do for 44 years with no problems and no regrets, and I can lay my head on my pilow and go to sleep at night, Prayes be to the LORD for that.

sounds high to me, but as always its not their problem until hired.
myself I charge $100 set up for anything but beaver and coyotes, and $75 a animal. on beaver and yotes is $150 set up, $125 per animal- and if thats too high, then they do indeed have a problem but its not my problem.
for farmers I gopher trap and fur trap, I give them a discount like the last coyote- like last coyote was $75 set up, $100 for the coyote. That was going 40 miles or so round trip, for 8 days- cheap at the price

now that sound real fair to me steve, and I know I should charge more then what I do, but it is all very close for me or I do charge more if its out of town, and it gets more Trapping land then I can even begen to Trap, so it all works out very well for me. but anyone can charge what they want ant no skin off my behind. but I just think the guy is way out of line with them prices thats all. so you all can call me non pro or what ever you want because that ant no skin off my behind ether. now thats ALL I have to say about this post,

still have two mindsets on the problem 1 is a person business minded that is not a fur trapper and is not coming back to make their money in the season ,2 fur trapper that does adc work and will remove the problem and come back for the rest of the money during the season ,the difference is the payment method ,one up front, one in small payments over a longer time ,so which one could ya say is what to who
to play devils advocate comeing back do you take only enough to cover the loss of payment up front or take the cream for a period of time and move ,its a slope that no one wants to say or ask but think about it as the other guy is thinking the same thing about our practices as us to his

It was fair and I did what I said I was going to do. Everyone was happy except for the yotes
