LOL- I don't mind doing demos- my very first was a on gopher trapping with footholds, and since then have done demos on mink, coon about most often coyotes.

one of the most interesting was our "Coyote Day" in PA it seems like a lifetime ago- while lots has changed since then, the basics of my methods still endures

Equipment isn't universal. what works or doesn't work for one, isn't the same for all.

Same trapping trowle I use for gopher,s works very well on the fur line as well. Why carry heavier, or have a "rakc" of trowles to use, if one size for me fits all?

same with te sifter- the wood one did all I need for a sifter, if it hadn't finally gotten to the point of no repair (it was kind of like Geo Washingtons axe the guy had for sale-original, but of course the head was new, and the handle was replaced a few times). I stock mega sifters, so I had options avaialable, but liked what I used. When that went, I decided to try the megasifter, and like that as well. slight advatage to being able to use the metal edge, but the trowel blade edge did the same when needed.

as far as hammers, I still use the masons hammer- its not only adequite, but more than that its actually perfect for my soil and conditions, 99% of the time- on those rare occasions when its not, i got a mini sledge in the truck- I can grab it any time, but seldom do.

anyone that has ever done any construction work, knows the difference in energy expended using a hammer even a few ozs heavier over a day

after years of using 1.75s and now years of using #3- end of the day, honestly can't say I see much difference in total success rates one vs the other- I use #3 now because 1.75s are much harder to use overall- #3 save the the dicking around making a set. And I've been browbeaten into bigger is better.

and poly is the ticket is you don't use screens, nothing else in my opinion comes close.

Still using a spray bottle for lots of urine.
