Hello All,
I am not new to trapper forums but I love trapping Canines (Coyotes) as my target animal. This upcoming year will be my 4th year in their pursuit. 1st year caught like 7 yotes, 2nd year I was the camera man for Troy Ericksons video ( Logging Roads, Lanes and Laminations). I caught 13 Coyotes in 1 week for that video ,so think i did well. Last year i caught 14 Coyotes but also released 4 wolves which brought a whole new aspect for trapping to me. I roll with 80% Duke 1.75 4x4 and I realize the controversy this may bring. They held lots of yotes, cats, and all the wolves, for wolves not my trap of choice but for all other canines they do well, but they also held the wolves just fine. Look forward to learning more from CoyotesRus.
Attitude is a Choice
Tom

welcome Tom-
you want controversy- I like the 1.75 as well, but have always used them 2 coil and did well with them.
When you get time, check out the archives- there is quite a bit of very good coyote info there.
would you please add your location to your profile- it helps in discussions to know where you are from.

How long were your wolves in the trap and what did the trap look like after?

I would guess they were in traps 10 - 12 hours, all traps were just fine except with a large male wolf, dog was bent on that one, IMO dog would have been bent in any size trap with the exception of dogless or reinforced dogs, same for any large canine, nothing a pair of linemans couldnt fix

Your wolves look like mine but the damage they do to traps doesn't.
Maybe those Dukes are tougher .....
