There have been questions on the handling of ranch mink trapped in the wild.
Ok here is the scoop on wild caught ranch mink at NAFA.
Handle the pelts fur out, it will be to your advantage. If they are fur in they will still go in the ranch mink May assortment as that is where they belong.
If a trapper ships wild caught ranch mink they will show up as wild mink on the fur receipt. This is because trappers are supposed to have wild mink and not ranch mink in the computer system. Having said that they are legitimate furs harvested by trappers. Grading determines what they are. They will show up eventually on your account sales as ranch mink marked SKP (escapees). Wild caught ranch mink are only sold in the May as there are not sufficient quantities to offer at more than one sale.
