MARCH 2012 SALE RESULTS www.furharvesters.com/results/2012/March/mar12us.pdfSale was very good... Saw lot of trappers the past 2 days and all of them are pumped for next season... I can tell you that damaged beavers will be hard to find in some areas next year. Even native trappers are boosted...LoL Here's a picture of us yesterday evening unloading our 14ft "cube" at the FHA warehouse in North Bay. Roads were nice and NW Québec is already out of snow and some lakes are already cleared of ice.... I can't believe it but its true, I saw them...LoL Here... Still have snow GRRRRRR

I don't know Mark... Yesterday, Luc was still updating the list when I was there.
But, FHA could move 85% of the Eastern yotes at great prices if we look at the past auctions.

Several harvesters have some concerns regarding racoons and their lower clearances. I will review my bosses slips which had about 40 late October coons, 40 rats and a 1 mink.

I think it was after the crash of '08.............Bob was sure wild fur was DONE(yes Bob I'm baiting you, start posting again)...........Avg. $11.50 on Fall/WIS. rats. FHA March. $28/male mink. $22/coon(with better 3x/4x/and all 5x held) 16% of coon held for May sale. Greg told me Cats went BIG. I hope that holds 'till May for my Kansas cats. Looks like fur is looking up.

I was happy with the sale for my WI coon, rats and mink. I started trapping coon when the season opened so I had mostly mid-October to early November coon, with a few mid-November to late December coon. I did very little rat trapping this year, but did experiment with some under-ice trapping in late December to mid-January rats. Mink were incidental catches. Averages were as follows for the March FHA sale.
Fur - quantity - unsold - Average
Mink - 1 - $31.00 Rats - 26 - $12.33 Coon - 39 - 6 - $22.21
Of the 6 coon held back, 4 are 4X - 5X selects C or D color and 2 are LG II A-D color.
All averages are BEFORE commission. Still much better than prices I received when selling to county buyers on two occasions earlier. So for the March sale I'll have the 6 unsold coons, 7 rats and 1 more mink.

Received a phone call yesterday from a shipper of mine and he was telling me that he got a beaver in the top lot. He was VERY happy. I told him.... I'll see you next year with your furs... Sure he replied BTW... His beaver was from mid-November!!!

I got a true top lot once from NAFA and once from FHA.
Both were about 80 85 bucks each. Funny I couldnt do it when they were in the couple hundreds lol.
BTW I think the final at FHA was 85 percent of the coyotes sold.

That is still looking good for the rats. I hope the May NAFA goes that well.
