Finally got to dig out the big sled and do some trapping. Last day of season, last run of the year. Time to catch some lake trout.

that all new snow? but you werel oving it!
we got 9/10 of an inch of rain after a couple inches of wet snow- mised the bullet yet once again

Pretty new snow. We didnt get any out of this last system but have got it a couple times in the last ten days.
We need the moisture bad.

Wow what a difference in weather most of my trapping ended on Feb 29th the day I pulled my water sets was 80 degrees.I was wearing a short sleeve shirt even caught 2 large snapping turtles in 330 conibears

Snowshoes, Stef, snowshoes...LOL. I havent used snowshoes for beaver for about 8 years.... used to be up to my butt also!

It isn't even good snow for snow shoeing. You still sink to your knees. College boy and Wifey went out for a ride on the snow mobiles yesterday. They were on a Bravo and a VK 540. They got royally stuck. If they hadn't has a come-a-long or two with them they were walking - without snow shoes. They said that as soon as you were off the trail down you went. Then the machines couldn't get back up but plowed with the snow coming over the hood.

I heard of 2 friends or ours last week were in the chitt pulling their marten traps during the last big snow. Skis under branches, all kind of stuck ed problems...
