Getting some coon put up, slowly but surely. Weekends and after work. Stretchers are full as we speak. I'm running 60% 3x or bigger. Only 1 coon smaller than 2x. How's the put up job look? What are they worth? BIG $$$$$ COON!!

Hey beav, I'll save you the time. I know, I need to get an electric stapler, I feel like I can get the best stretch with pins right now, unless I can come to your shed and you show me how its really done with staples??

Your being too fussy.
Get a stapler and dont bother with pleating those tails.
Use screen on the tails and 4 staples.

They look good Nick. But go get yourself a stapler, You will be glad you did. Did 120 yesterday and 47 tonight. (with help). 4 staples across the back edge of the skirt. A piece of 1/4" hardware cloth on the tail with 4 more staples. Belly side 2 staples In each leg. Cut the window and your good to go, Elapsed time less then a minute.
But your put up looks great well fleshed keep up the good work. I think It's a waste of time pleating the tails you won't get anything extra by doing It.
Price ? that's a good question.

They look nice. I would like to see someones stapler set up. Greg Shroeder had something on his that kept the staples from being driven all the way in and it worked pretty sweet. I should have looked at it closer but didn't have time.

By using a 9/16 ths staples you don't have to worry about the staples going In to far.
But what Greg had was a spacer attached to the end of the staple gun and that held the gun up off the hide a 16th or so. But If you have a staple gun that needs to pushed down to operate then that won't work. There are electric staple guns that have adjustable depth setting but I have found that Is just something more to go wrong with them.
When pulling staples go between the hide and the board to pull don't try and pull from the top of the hide. But you will need a flat pointed type wire cutters to do this.

Very nice Nick.
Don't stop putting coons like you do... They are nice and you should be proud of your finish products. I like them and won't be shy to bid on those if I was a buyer.

Thanks guys, only have 2 dozen stretchers, so it's a slow go. 24 off this weekend, and will work to get them full again.
I guess the benefit of trapping more minky areas, is that there is less coon, and the coon I do catch are generally nice sized.

Here is a picture of mine just setting loose on the stapler A piece of aluminum, the bent over part in the middle holds down the safety so it is overridden, the two end pieces hold it up off the fur a little bit. The little notch part way up hellped hold it in position when I had it taped to the stapler. Jim
