I am a new trapper of 6 weeks or so and I am 62 years old and I caught my first coyote today. A young female that weighed about 26 lbs. I was so excited I couldn't believe it. Patients surely pays off. Thanks to everyone on this forum for answering questions and for all the archive information that is available. I hope I will be able to pass along information to other new trappers in a few years to help them out as I have been helped out. My first advice. Get on this forum and read everything you can and learn from people who have years of experience. Thanks again everyone for the help.

the more people that post, the more info gets shared................. so don't be shy!
some people can catch coyotes and not get the bug, but for me, it was a steady downhill slide..............
sounds like you have the bug-
I got into coyotes to get coon trapping permission, and for me, much as I like mink, nothing in trapping turns me on like a coyote in a trap. I went from a week, to 2 weeks, to taking the first week of water and making it 3 weeks- til today when I skip almost the first month of "easy money" water.
wait until one sits back and howls at you-
