I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about this lure? A freind of mine gave this to me and said her father used it many years ago. It's still in liquid form and pretty potent stuff. I'm sure it will still work. The label states that it is made in Maine by a famous indian trapper. Came in a woodern container as well. Any idea on how old it could be? Thank's

I would be listing that on e-bay you may get $50 dollars or more for it with the wood container. Jim

The bottle is almost full and is still really potent. I would like to give it a try and see if it would still be effective after all these years. I'm guessing it's 20 to 30 years old based on what I was told. Smells like no other lures that I have.

I did a search for it. It was in Hunter-Trader-Trapper in 1904 volume 8 page 57

I actually saw that as well..if it's that old it's in really good shape yet. I thought 1080 might get a kick out of the label. Says just use 3 to 4 drops is all that is needed.

yes at 1.00 per oz postpaid, way older than 20-30 years............ I would keep it plenty of good fox lures on the market this is a treasure to hold onto. Dang them labels stating 3-4 drops will work LOL.

Gotta love marketing then and now. Some things change and then again some things stay the same. The word of today is concintraited Enragers is another good one

Have a few old lures I've collected, and have one that is kind of neat-
not a fancy wood tube, but it has a HD cardboard tube with solid metal bottom and a metal screw on cap- F.C. Taylor Fox lure, looks to be a 2oz bottle.
I love his motto- "Used wherever furs are caught" and "Worth as much to a trapper as traps"
1959- postage cost was $.14
it too states "only a few drops are necessary..."

sure it does, shows the amazing drawing power of such a rare and powerful blend of rare essentials and enragers. Only the top of the line would dare to use such a complex and deadly fur taking agent and be careful you may just wipe out an entire fox population with such a tool and of course hard core work ethic
