Thinking about buying some more coyote traps and wondering what you all like and feel to be the best traps out there? Thanks

I have been reading a lot about the MB 650's. Many say they are a very high quality trap and they are expensive. Many on the forums say the MB650 needs little or no adjustment out of the box and I think that is a plus. I have Dukes now but don't know how long they will last. Bought those instead of Bridgers when I was looking, based upon the advice of a friend. If I decide this isn't for me then I am not out a lot of money. If I enjoy it next year as much as I do now then I may upgrade. I am a rookie trapper but I am also 62 years old. Don't know if my health and my arthritis will allow me to enjoy this as long as I want to. So that is how I am looking at it. From my perspective, if I were to do it over I probably would have bought a better trap. Maybe a few MB650's and a few Bridgers. You and I are in the same boat.

Whats your budget ? this will answer your question on the traps ,also can you afford to lose them ,which is the next one ,are you wanting quantity or quality ?

For $1.75/ea(including 1/4"spring pins) I can make any Duke#4 or Bridger #3 catch and hold as well as I believe any "coyote" trap made today or yesterday for that matter. I can't prove it but than again, nobody can prove differently!!
Now if the term "best" is being used in the context of "how many more coyote can be caught with one trap over the other" than I want to know what % more of one over the other!

I have been very impressed with the 650 cast jaws this year. After using them and S-canning all my smaller #2 sized traps, I don't believe I/ll ever buy a different trap. The cast jaws are the ticket. No more smooth steel jaws for me. The cast jaws are rough like sandpaper...wide and flat. Took me a long time to make that financial commitment. Wish I would have done it long ago, now.
I/ll keep a few Duke #4 for those areas that combines like to hunt and kill my traps, but anywhere else the 650s will go.
