Frame the picture and hang it on the wall. A keeper for sure.

Nice photo! Ice fog in the air or did you breathe on the lens? It certainly emphasizes the dampness and chill.

Cool How's the ice your way? Ice is the best its been in years stef. We didnt have any snow at all until last friday. None. Its been mild so there isnt a lot of ice but its good. Probably a foot in the open areas and six inches in the cattails. Went through yesterday for the first time in a month. Last year I went through every day. Seriously it was pretty much every day. Musher, it must have been the lens.

Thanks for sharing How are you running the line on the marsh?
How much trapping do you do in the open ditch versus back in the cattails? Baited sets under the ice? Push ups? Do you pre mark your sites?
Enough questions for one round. I have a small marsh area I could not trap this fall. I am thinking about through the ice but it is all walking. Was wondering if baited foot holds on a 1 by 4 inch board would be more vi sable then baited 160s. Would use carrots for bait. Just thought the extra visibility with the light board would be better. Actually easier to slide in the 8 inch hole as well with a 1 stop loss or 1.5 coil trap instead of a 160.

bryce we can trap inside any house.
Once you've done it you wont mess around with anything else.
Maybe some colonies but that would be it. Caught the beaver on the ditch. Its my way into the swamp.

We can't trap in the houses so I will use the other methods mentioned and learn by doing. Good job you catch enough to keep the boys busy out in the marsh.

Yep, sorry I couldnt help ya bryce.
I think there was a time we couldnt trap in the houses but it was before my time.
Me and the boys got on the ice yesterday about 9 and got off about 3:30. Dropped my sons friend off and got home and mine barely made it through supper and it was lights out haha
Rats look really good right now, starting to really put the fat on.
