I don't have any Dukes but I did install a PIT on a #4 victor DBL. It turned an o.k. trap into an o.k. trap. It didn't change much for lynx. They were just as caught.

If I remember right it was over 3 pounds with the Sullivan tester. I would check for you but it blew into a couple pieces a while back...

HAHAHAHAH!! 3 pounds should equal a solid pad catch on coyotes/bobcats and keep skunks out of my sets!

thanks... i like them on the little traps may have to try a few and see what i think.... i like the pan on the stock duke just fine.. do not like the dog system all that well... too much movement i want them crisp for uncovered cat traps

since the orignal question asked was SHOULD he PIT pan them, and since the last post was "didn't like the duke stock dog" -
then to me, he didn"t HAVE a PIT pan on, but had the STOCK pan/dog on.
and if the problem was as stated, that there was too much dog travel on them, then the solution, is to short notch them

Coon Duke....do you have trouble with the spring pin moving out of place on catches....

I use these on a limited basis on land because I am usually targeting fox but I do use them heavily for beaver and have no problems. I installed oversized spring pins Kaspar made for me and they fit pretty tightly.

Coon Duke....do you have trouble with the spring pin moving out of place on catches.... Absolutely. The spring pins move with every catch, and I bent the tips down. No losses yet, but I can see that on the horizon. Only on coyotes, though.
