"It's raining coons, HALLELUJAH !"
Good thing you weren't there. The Davey Crockett look only works with one hat at a time.

Beav: How much weight do you estimate was on that beam?

Musher
I figured about 5lbs per coon with the board and there were 207 hanging. So that comes out to be a bit more then 1000 lbs. That joist had a slight crack In It from the day It was built but I never gave It a thought until It all came crashing down. Got It all put back together and as soon as these coon come down we will put a couple of posts so this doesn't happen again.
Wood will get you more money so It's worth using wood.
These aren't my coon My buddy Pat V and I are putting up fur for NAFA. Did those 207 coon In less then a day.
Actually NAFA requires us to use wood on coon. And drying coon tails on wire Is a waiting game. Four days on wood.

I see two problems there.
First is you should have hired a union carpenter and got an engineer.
Second is you are using wire for rats and duke ones at that.

Steven- You got that right about those duke stretchers. Junk. I think they are made out of the same wire they use on their 160s.
Gary- It sounds like you have a damn good partner doing fur with you!! Must be a real worker....nice put up too btw!!

That's quite a bit of weight. Santa was lucky he wasn't brained.
It would have made quite the headline. "Trapper killed by dead raccoons."
Glad it all worked out.

Right on Pat we make a good team. Me with the brains and you with the brawn. The only problem we have Is his taste in music or should I say the lack of It. Yep the Duke stretchers are junk but like Steven told me they work well on the smaller rats.

I thought Santa Clause was at the north pole making toys for Christmas, not messing with flea-bitten coons. The elves probably did all the work anyway. Nice job on the fur Gary.

I hate them duke stretchers so much I am going to pick up 4 or 5 dozen more next week.
BTW gary, you better quit putting up fur and start trapping more rats.
I passed you up.

don't like the Duke stretchers at all- as as they go up in size, the cheap wire problem becomes even more evident- coyote size, are worthless and I no longer use the couple of doz I bought years ago.
as far as wire for rats, you cannot beat Peerless IMHO.

ONLY thing I use wire on is rats.
For the small sizes the cheap wire shines.
