Set as many as u feel is needed, if theres lots of coon and other critter sign, then gang set. take out the non targets so you have traps open for the coyotes. "if its good enough for one trap, its good enough for more"

I've got some 80 acre tracts with 3, 4 or maybe more good spots to set, other tracts maybe twice that size with only one good spot. Some of your decision will be based on how many traps you have, how much time and how many other places to go. If this is the only property you have to trap, load it up if you have enough traps. If this is only one of many farms, pick the best looking couple of spots, set them and forge onward. Think edges, crossings, travel routes when picking the spots for your traps. I know it doesn't help right now, but after trapping the same property for a few years you'll learn which spots are the hotspots and which spots aren't as productive. One other thought is you will likely catch the same number of coyotes on the property if you set 3 locations as you will in 6 locations.

If i was setting the property for the first time, i would set heavy. Following years, i would set less heavy as i figure the property out. I will always try new spots on a property and things will change year to year with the crop rotations. After a while, you will get the property figured out.
An 80 acre property that is mostly ag field will take considerably less traps than one that is intermixed with sloughs, fields and woodlots.
