Thanks

I'm not a cat trapper, but do sell lure.
and I sell a ton of pikubua to cat trappers all over the country, year after year-
and in CO, they have 2 research cat programs going on, and I literally sell both programs pints each fall, and have for the past 5 years. I never talk to the trappers, only to the secetarys, but can assume that over the years, and the quantity ordered, that its doing the job its intended to do.
for what its worth

Thanks, cat trapping is a first for me. We moved from Ohio to Oklahoma where it is legal to trap cats.

I mix up cavens fish grease with a good dose of skunk and call it good. Anything with urine or beaver castor, mink musk, etc.etc. works. Red fox urine is as good or better than cat urine.
I've messed around with everything at one time or another but I'm down to keeping it simple.
Skunk on a clothespin up off the ground downwind from a walkthrough is my go to set anymore. Works fine at a flat set as well.
I don't like packing around a bunch of stuff.

I used to use all kinds of stuff but I'm actually trying to wean myself off of lure as much as I feel good about.
Probably use it on about half my sets.

I use a little known bait made by Jim Eyer in Wakefield, KS. Killer bait for cats, coyotes and coon. Now if I could just get him to give up the formula, I'd be alright.

Just a spelling correction here... Cachottier. Just say it like this: Cash-O-Tea-Hay.
Yes in some area, its a killer cat lure.

I'm with you on cachottier. It does attract pretty well anything that eats meat.
When making a double mouse hole I put cachottier in one hole and pikauba in the second. Lynx like it. But cachottier alone works well, too.

I actually made a flat set out of a discarded toilet out in Arizona a few years ago, and used cahottier as lure. Caught a couple of coyotes at that set. From then on, I've called that lure Catch-A-Shitter. LOL
