I have been trying to look at topos and locate some travel and migration corridors and having little luck. Not really sure what to look for. I got about 12 topos that a friend marked for me with 8 spots. I tried it 4 years ago in Jan and with 4 sets at each of 5 different spots I could get permissions on got 20 fox in 10 days of checking. Now this guy marked the maps from his home, 250 miles from me. He said go find the best spots in each area and setup. HOW can I do that? I look and don't see what he saw. Yes some of the long travel ways but his were prime .The local fox in the area I can do OK with but never seem on my own to get into the 4-10 from same trap area for my catch ...even IF I set it all year [like my place].Suggestions?

Sorry to que in before 1080.. but my time is limited; One of my first jobs was being trained by a WW1 and !! sniper. He would take topo maps and look at them from a distance....8" by 8" for the mile Then he would point out connecting habitats....cover of darkness for the hunter and the prey; Neck down areas were shooting lanes, or in this case traapping hot spots.
We were in soil survey and he did not want to walk distances between test holes for soil types. Round about way in answering, but foxes are edge hunters.
